Abstract: A network communication system is disclosed that does not require modification of or addition to software at a manager or agents. An agent-specific information-common conversion processor carries out conversions between agent-specific information, which is information that can be recognized by exchanges, i.e., the agents, and common information, which is information that can be recognized by the network management system, i.e., the manager that manages the agents. In addition, an interface conversion processor selects the most suitable program and GUI application files for executing set functions and services and notifies the manager.

Abstract: In a switching system data inheritance method of controlling hardware on the basis of a first database storing various management data such as subscriber information to inherit switching system data for various types of call connection processing, change information indicating a change in structure from the first database to a second database which inherits data from the first database is created. Data constituting the first database is converted into new data having a new structure and constituting the second database on the basis of the created change information to store the converted data in the second database. A switching system data inheritance system is also disclosed.

Abstract: A physical packaging position processing system of an exchange having exchange proper software and a terminal unit connected to the exchange and having terminal software. The exchange proper software has a system fixed database which is common to the whole of the system and which stores, in a hierarchical structure, a name table of frame unit name, frame name and module name and a name table of module main body name and card name carried in the module. Upon the system construction, a maintenance man prepares a physical packaging position database by utilizing the information of the system fixed database.
