  • Patent number: 9075924
Abstract: An interface selection unit physically determines whether or not a memory card is compatible with a first transfer mode, based on the result of signal exchange with the memory card via a first interface unit, to select a first interface unit or a second interface unit. If the second interface unit is selected, a memory card control unit performs an initialization process to cause the memory card to be accessible via the second interface unit, and thereafter, logically determines whether or not the memory card is compatible with the first transfer mode, based on information read from the memory card.

  • Patent number: 7187740
Abstract: A communication system is provided in which normal communications can be ensured even upon a loss of synchronization on a part of transmission paths configuring a network. The system is to perform data communications within a network configured by a plurality of devices. A synchronization detecting section detects a loss of synchronization for data transmission between devices connected to each other via the network. Upon detection by the synchronization detecting section of the loss of synchronization, a control information retaining section and a switching section included in the first device cause a connection with the second device to be cut off, and then again cause a connection with the device. Upon connection caused by the switching section between the devices, a connection processing section 16 performs a connecting process for enabling data communications between these devices.

  • Publication number: 20060056439
Abstract: A method and apparatus enable high speed transfer of real-time AV data over a bus. When transmitting real-time data of a specific format using isochronous packets, data indicating the transfer rate is added to the isochronous packet. The playback speed can be changed and playback can be stopped while maintaining the transfer rate. High speed data transmission is thus possible.

  • Publication number: 20050089067
Abstract: According to a data transfer apparatus of the present invention, a wait time setting section 14a sets a wait time. The wait time is selected so as to be equal to or greater than a transmission delay time, as detected by a delay time detection section 12a, that is incurred between data transfer apparatuses 1a and 1b, and to guarantee a bandwidth, as detected by a bandwidth detection section 18a, that is required for data signals which require periodic transmission. As a result, it becomes possible to perform a long-distance transmission of data signals which require periodic transmission and sporadically-occurring asynchronous data signal by applying time-multiplex thereto.

  • Patent number: 6424483
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing device according to the present invention operates with steps of moving a magnetic tape having a plurality of tracks per frame and a plurality of control signals recorded thereon, keeping count of the pulses of a frequency generator signal corresponding to the rotation of a capstan motor by a frequency generator counter, resetting the count of the frequency generator pulses by the control signal reproduced by a fixed magnetic head, detecting the track number by the control signal counter reset by a frame reference signal, controlling, at the start, the start timing on the basis of the tape stop position detected by the frequency generator pulse counter and control counter and the reference frame signal from the reference frame signal generator. The device prevents thinning of tracks at the editing point in after-break recording and the disturbance of images immediately after the start.

  • Patent number: 6266479
Abstract: The present invention is a video signal recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing video signals (SvN) inputted from a plurality (n) of different cameras (CMn). A frame switcher (2) sequentially selects one of the video signals (SvN) in prescribed order, and identifying signal adders (10a, 10b) add an identifying signal (Sid) representing a corresponding camera number (N) to the selected video signal (SvN) and generate recording signals (Sr1, Sr2). A recording signal processor (11) modulates the recording signals (Sr1, Sr2) and recording magnetic heads (16a, 16b) record them on a magnetic tape (4). Reproducing heads (15a, 15b) reproduce a recorded recording signal (Sr′) from the magnetic tape (4) and a reproducing processor (14) demodulates the signal. A camera number detector (23) detects the identifying signal (Sid) from a demodulated video signal (Sr2′).

  • Patent number: 5991109
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus includes a reading and writing head for writing data on data tracks formed on a recording tape and reading the data therefrom to produce a first reproduction data. A simultaneous reproducing head is provided for reading a second production data from the data track just being written or read by the reading and writing head. A delay unit delays the first signal by a predetermined phase difference factor to arrange the first and second reproduction data on the same time base. A determiner is also provided for selecting either of said first and second reproduction signals whose signal quality is better than the other.

  • Patent number: 5072319
Abstract: There is provided a correction value generating means (15) which utilizes, as a correction value, the difference between a first tracking error signal provided by a first tracking error detecting means (13) and a second tracking error signal provided by a second tracking error detecting means (10) where any one of first magnetic heads (3), (4) and second magnetic heads (5), (6) fitted through electric-mechanical transducing elements (7), (8) is in a state of reproducing, but the difference between the second tracking error signal of a recorded track being currently reproduced and the second tracking error signal preceding the recorded track is used as the correction value where the first magnetic heads (3), (4) are in a state of recording while the second magnetic heads (5), (6) are in a state of reproducing, so that the correction value can be used to correct a reference signal used to drive the electric-mechanical transducing elements thereby to control the electric-mechanical transducing elements (7), (8)
