Patent number: 9327948Abstract: A telescopic boom provided in a crane includes a boom body and a telescopic cylinder for extending/contracting the boom body. A roller is provided in a tip end portion of the telescopic cylinder to be rotatable in a longitudinal direction. A peripheral surface of the roller is formed to be curved (crowning) in a convex shape outside as viewed in the longitudinal direction and make contact with a lower plate of the boom body in a state where both corner parts are away from the lower plate.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2014Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: TADANO LTD.Inventors: Shogo Seki, Toshiyuki Miyajima

Patent number: 9211638Abstract: Disclosed herein is an installation method and apparatus for installing a resilient ring-shaped clip into engagement with a recess of a recipient channel. The apparatus generally comprises a clip delivery structure having a delivery channel formed therein and comprising an input for receiving the clip, a converging portion for radially biasing the clip, and an output for delivering the radially biased clip to the recipient channel. A clip stabilization mechanism may also be present for stabilizing the clip in the delivery channel, and for disengaging the clip upon application of an axial force to the clip that results in its passage through the delivery channel. Also disclosed is a clip delivery mechanism for displacing a clip through such a delivery channel and the recipient channel until engagement of the clip with the recess, wherein the clip stabilization mechanism disengages upon axial displacement of the clip by the clip delivery mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2012Date of Patent: December 15, 2015Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Toshiyuki Miyajima, David Upshall, Hideki Sadaoka

Patent number: 7654174Abstract: An adjustment unit has a driver for turning an adjustment screw, a sleeve having a hexagonal hole connected to a rotating shaft, an insertion member connected to the upper end of the driver and of which a part is inserted in the sleeve, a pipe concentrically provided around the driver and having at its forward end a socket for rotating an adjustment nut, and a gear body provided concentric with the pipe and rotating the pipe. The sleeve has a short tiltable support section in contact with the hexagonal hole. A gap is provided between the hexagonal hole of the gear body and a hexagonal column section of the pipe. The driver and the pipe tilt about the tilting support section as the fulcrum.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2006Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Tachino, Toshiyuki Miyajima, Tomoaki Tsuyoshi

Patent number: 7556005Abstract: An automatic tappet clearance adjuster comprising a unit for adjusting the projection by advancing/retracting an adjust screw from the forward end of a rocker arm, a section for detecting the torque by rotating the adjust screw, and a control mechanism section for controlling the adjusting unit according to the torque value measured by the torque detecting section. The control mechanism section measures the torque value continuously when a valve is closed by retracting the adjust screw from the open state of the valve. A rotation reference position corresponding to the intersection of a first approximation line and a second approximation line approximating the sections immediately before and after the inflection point of differential value of the torque value is detected as a reference point, and the adjust screw is retracted by a set amount from the reference point.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2005Date of Patent: July 7, 2009Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Tachino, Toshiyuki Miyajima, Tomoaki Tsuyoshi

Patent number: 7497194Abstract: A tappet clearance automatic adjusting device comprising an adjusting unit for advancing/retracting an adjust screw from the forward end of a rocker arm and adjusting the projection amount, a torque detecting section for detecting the torque by rotating the adjust screw, and a control mechanism section for controlling the adjusting unit based on a torque value measured at the torque detecting section. The control mechanism section starts retracting the adjust screw when a valve is opened and continuously measures the torque value obtained when the valve is closed. A position, corresponding to time when variation in the filtering value obtained by smoothing the torque value through moving average is a threshold value or smaller, is detected as a reference point and the adjust screw is retracted from the reference point by a set amount.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2005Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasuyuki Tachino, Toshiyuki Miyajima, Tomoaki Tsuyoshi
