    Abstract: An automatic cutter positioning device in a gang slitter consisting of a frame assembly having an upper frame including rails, a lower frame including rails, and side frames. Cutter heads are slidably mounted to the upper and lower rails. Cutter shaft journalling cases are vertically slidably mounted on each cutter head. Spline shafts journalled by the side frames provide driving force to the cutter shafts through gears and belts. The cutter heads are moved so that the forward head moves faster then the rearward head.
