  • Patent number: 7845757
Abstract: A printing apparatus including printheads arranged along a transport path of a printing medium and which are transported in a transporting direction. The printheads have a plurality of nozzles arranged in an arrangement which intersects the transporting direction. The apparatus also includes a printhead control unit configured to print an image on the printing medium by discharging ink from part of the plurality of nozzles on the basis of given image data, and a discharge inspection unit configured to detect any defectively discharging nozzles present in the plurality of nozzles, the printhead control unit specifying specific nozzles which discharge ink for printing the image, determining whether any discharge-defective nozzle is included in the specific nozzles or not, and starting printing of the image when it is determined that no discharge-defective nozzle is included in the specific nozzles.

  • Patent number: 6792384
Abstract: A method for producing a fluid trap for an instant film assemblage, which method can produce an environment-friendly trap easily and at low cost, is disclosed. A plate-shaped paper material having a uniform width and a uniform thickness is passed through a clearance formed between a pair of rollers. The plate-shaped paper material is compressed at width-directional opposite end portions thereof such that a thickness of the paper material gradually decreases from a central portion thereof toward opposite ends thereof, and at the same time, the paper material is cut along a longitudinal direction thereof to a predetermined width. Thereafter, the paper material is cut along the width direction thereof at predetermined intervals with respect to the longitudinal direction thereof, thereby producing the trap.
