    Abstract: The present invention provides an optical module capable of being readily dismounted from a host board while solving the problem discussed in the specification. An optical module 10 according to the present invention is an optical module 10 to be inset into a host board 40, which comprises a projection 15 formed in a housing 14 and adapted to engage with a hook 41 provided in the host board 40, and a lever 20 pivotably mounted on the housing 14 in order to disengage the hook 41 engaging with the projection 15 to release the engagement, wherein the lever 20 has a first portion 21A adapted to move with exertion of a force in a direction toward the housing 14, and a second portion 21B being adjacent to the projection 15 and adapted to move according to the movement of the first portion 21A.
