  • Patent number: 9658270
Abstract: In a reset period of a first stage, a switching circuit is turned on, and high-level driving voltages are output from driving circuits. In a charge transfer period subsequent to the reset period, the switching circuit is turned off, and low-level driving voltages are output from the driving circuits. It is determined whether or not an output voltage of an amplifier circuit in the charge transfer period is included in a normal range. In the inspection of a second stage subsequent to the first stage, in the same manner as in the normal measurement, voltages having opposite phases are output from the driving circuits in the reset period and the charge transfer period, and it is determined whether or not the output voltage of the amplifier circuit in the charge transfer period is included in a normal range.

  • Patent number: 8194049
Abstract: When a motion in the X-axis direction is detected, first electrodes are set as drive electrodes, and second electrodes are set as detection electrodes. A switching circuit performs switching so as to electrically connect a drive circuit to the first electrodes, electrically connect a first detection circuit to one of the second electrodes, and electrically connect a second detection circuit to the other second electrode. In a motion detection circuit in which connections are established in this manner, the drive circuit drives the drive electrodes, and then the position of an object to be detected in the X-axis direction is obtained from the difference between capacitances detected by the first and second detection circuits at this time.

  • Patent number: 8149226
Abstract: An operational direction detecting device includes a device body that includes an operational area operable in two or more directions, two or more detection electrode/drive electrode pairs that are formed at direction detecting positions of the operational area and form capacitance between a detection electrode and a drive electrode, and a control unit that decides an entrance direction of an object to be detected from capacitance acquired by each of the two or more detection electrode/drive electrode pairs when an object to be detected performing an operation enters the operational area. The control unit decides the direction of the area corresponding to larger capacitance as the entrance direction of the object to be detected when the composite capacitance of capacitances acquired at the two or more detection electrode/drive electrode pairs exceeds a first predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 8089222
Abstract: A fast electromagnet device (140) receives a high voltage from a pulse power supply through a coaxial cable and excites an electromagnet at high speed, so as to bend a charged particle beam. The fast electromagnet device (140) includes a kicker magnet (150) and an auxiliary circuit (160). The kicker magnet (150) is equivalent to a circuit element of a lumped constant circuit, is formed with a space penetrating in the traveling direction of the charged particle beams, instantaneously generates a magnetic field in the penetrated space with a high voltage applied, and bends the charged particle beams passing through the penetrated space. The auxiliary circuit (160) constitutes a matching circuit in combination with the kicker magnet (150), so that the input impedance of the matching circuit and the characteristic impedance of the coaxial cable connected to the input terminal of the matching circuit are matched.

  • Publication number: 20090284465
Abstract: When the mode is switched to a motion detection mode, using a changeover switch, the mode is switched to the motion detection mode by pressing the changeover switch. In this mode, motion detection is performed by moving a hand in an area to be operated. When the mode is switched from the motion detection mode to a normal mode, the hand is moved away from the area to be operated, or the changeover switch is again pressed. Moreover, when the hand is distant from a capacitive sensor, it is determined that a motion input operation is being performed. When the hand is close to the capacitive sensor, it is determined that no motion input operation is being performed, and thus the motion detection mode is changed.

  • Patent number: 4357512
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous manufacture of butt-welded pipes is constituted by a heating furnace for heating a skelp continuously passed therethrough up to a predetermined temperature less than the butt-welding temperature for the material of the skelp, heaters adjacent the outlet end of the heating furnace and having spaced opposed induction heating coils on opposite sides of the path along which the skelp is passed through the heaters and adjacent the edge portions of the skelp for heating only the edge portions of the skelp discharged from the heating furnace up to the butt-welding temperature. The induction heating coils are such that the electromagnetic coupling between the induction heating coils and the corresponding edge portions of the skelp can be varied to adjust the temperature to which the edge portions are heated.
