Patent number: 8149898Abstract: To prevent disabling of the path tracking function. A path allocation unit allocates a signal power peak of a delay profile crated by a delay profile creation unit as a path to a finger reception unit. When tracking a path which has been allocated by the path allocation unit, it is judged whether a path tracking region set for each path is overlapped with a mask region. The path is tracked by performing a process not to cause a loss of a path tracking function due to overlap. Demodulation of the path which has been allocated is performed by a finger reception unit. Each of the demodulated signals outputted from the finger reception unit are rake combined to reproduce the transmitted information signal.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2007Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiyuki Okuyama

Patent number: 7415277Abstract: In a mobile communication system, a base station of a cell transmits neighboring cell information to a mobile station located in the cell. The mobile station monitors signals of neighboring cells based on the information. The neighboring cell information includes identification information on the cell in which the mobile station is located and on the neighboring cells thereof; and ranks for monitoring the respective cells. When a reception signal level of a signal transmitted by the base station of the cell in which the mobile station is located becomes equal to or below a given threshold value, the mobile station monitors a signal of a corresponding neighboring cell. The neighboring cell information may include specific reception signal levels for the respective neighboring cells instead of the ranks.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2004Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiyuki Okuyama

Patent number: 7315590Abstract: A reverse spreading device is provided which is capable of performing timing detection and channel estimation even in a large frequency offset environment without great increases in its circuit scale and its power consumption and of expanding a range being within the AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) for the frequency offset. A multiplication is made by multipliers between complex base band signals and spread codes and then resulting n-pieces of multiplied values are integrated by m-pieces of adders for every k-pieces of multiplied values to produce m-pieces of complex intermediate signals before obtaining complex symbols. A probability of correct synchronization is increased by providing a frequency offset to m-pieces of complex intermediate signals using phase rotators to compensate for rotation within one symbol period and to obtain a great spreading gain. A range being within the AFC for the frequency offset is expanded since a phase error is corrected before a production of the complex symbol signals.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2000Date of Patent: January 1, 2008Assignee: NEC Electronics CorporationInventors: Toshiyuki Okuyama, Osamu Ohnishi

Patent number: 7023831Abstract: To provide a CDMA mobile communications apparatus which can enhance a detection probability of a base station received with low power. A first threshold determination unit selects a peak correlation value output from a slot synchronizing unit based on a predetermined first threshold T1. A second threshold determination unit selects the peak correlation value selected by the first threshold determination unit based on the predetermined second threshold T2. A first storage unit and a second storage unit hold slot timing corresponding to the peak correlation value selected by the second threshold determination unit. The slot timing selection unit appropriately selects the slot timing held in the first storage unit and the second storage unit, and sequentially transmits the slot timing to a frame synchronization/code group identifying unit and a Scrambling Code identifying unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2001Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiyuki Okuyama

Publication number: 20010044302Abstract: For reporting an emergency at a minimal level if a user enters the emergency and requires a help of a third party, a portable telephone terminal device receives reported information “S1” constantly transmitted from a radio base station in a country and a district in which the user is roaming, and obtains basic information for use in the communications with the radio base station. The portable telephone terminal device transmits the information about its own station to the radio base station to perform location registration “S2”. The portable telephone terminal device transmits contract area identification information “S3”, and reports corresponding function presence/absence information “S4”.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2001Publication date: November 22, 2001Applicant: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiyuki Okuyama
