  • Patent number: 8100992
Abstract: A biomass thermochemical gasification apparatus is provided that can manufacture high-quality fuel gas out of solid biomass in an industrial manner. This fuel gas can be used as fuel for a gas engine and a gas turbine for example and also can be used as synthesis gas for methanol synthesis. A high-temperature combustion gas generation apparatus (101) for biomass operates entirely by biomass and the heat source thereof does not depend on fossil fuel. A coarsely-ground powder biomass (205) subjected to gasification and gasification agent (303) are introduced to a primary gasification reaction room (202) and generate gasification reaction by, as reaction heat, radiation heat from a wall face of the primary gasification reaction room (202) heated by combustion gas (109a) generated in the high-temperature combustion gas generation apparatus (101) and are dissolved. Consequently, the biomass (205) is converted to clean and high-quality generated gas.

  • Publication number: 20090318572
Abstract: The liquid fuel synthesizing apparatus (1) for efficient synthesis of liquid fuel from biomass, such as plant for a raw material, comprised of reactors (2) with a catalyst incorporated therein, coolers (3) for cooling of synthesized gaseous matter and extracting of liquid fuel, and temperature adjustment means (7) for regulating by heat exchange any unreacted gas after recovery of liquid fuel to reaction temperature suitable for liquid fuel gas synthesis, wherein the reactors, the coolers and the temperature adjustment means are arranged multistage inline-straightly along gas flow. The temperature adjustment means (7) and the reactors (2) are disposed in the constant temperature room (8) in parallel. The coolers (3) are disposed apart from the constant temperature rooms (8).

  • Patent number: 5997595
Abstract: A burner for an entrained bed gasifier is provided in which a stable ignition is accelerated in the vicinity of a fuel jetting port and a good combustion state is maintained. A fuel (1, 3), such as coal and char etc., and a portion of a gasifying agent (2, 4, 5) are premixed in a burner before they a charged into a gasifier. The burner includes a triple tubular member including an outer tubular portion, an intermediate tubular portion, and an inner tubular portion. A seal gas tube is positioned within the inner tubular portion. At the time when the fuel, such as coal and char etc., and a premixing gas (a portion of the gasifying agent) are charged into the burner, at least any one of the fuel, such as coal and char etc., and the premixing gas is charged in a tangential direction relative to the burner central axis so as to be given a swirling directional velocity component.

  • Patent number: 5961946
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing carbon black and an apparatus therefor, in which a gasification furnace is separated into a lower gasification section and an upper pyrolysis section via a distribution plate, waste tire chips are supplied to the pyrolysis section of the gasification furnace and pyrolytically decomposed to separate it into pyrolysis gas and fixed carbon, fine fixed carbon is separated from a mixed gas discharged from the gasification furnace and supplied to the gasification section of the gasification furnace to generate gasification gas, the gasification gas is supplied to the pyrolysis section through the distribution plate, a mixed gas of pyrolysis gas and gasification gas is introduced after fine fixed carbon is separated, so that carbon black is yielded.

  • Patent number: 5755165
Abstract: An improvement of a coal firing device applied to coal gasifiers, boilers for power generation, etc. On the inner walls of a ceiling portion (4) of a firing furnace (3) and of a throat portion (2) thereabove, and of a diffuser portion (6) further thereabove, where necessary, plate-like vortex breaker(s) (1A, 1B) is/are provided. Vortex flow of gas in the vicinity of the inner wall surface around the throat portion (2) is thereby weakened and molten slag sticking on the wall surface is suppressed to be pushed up by the gas. There occurs neither staying of molten slag at the diffuser portion (6) nor scattering of slag, and blockade of furnace due to solid-phase slag does not occur.

  • Patent number: 4144016
Abstract: A burner includes a plurality of air nozzles open toward a furnace and which are disposed unsymmetrically with respect to the central axis of the burner and so combined that the velocity of combustion air to issue from one or more of the nozzles is higher than the mean air velocity through the total air nozzle opening area and the velocity of combustion air from the rest of the nozzles is lower than the mean velocity. The opening area of the lower-velocity air nozzle or nozzles accounts for from 30 to 60% of the total opening area. A fuel nozzle or nozzles are located within or adjacent the lower-velocity air nozzle or nozzles. The amount of air to issue from the lower-velocity air nozzle or nozzles is not more than 70% of the theoretical air for the fuel to jet out of the burner.
