  • Patent number: 6616495
Abstract: A method for filming a carbon nanotube film comprising the steps of preparing a solution having a solvent into which a coarse carbon nanotube is dispersed, evaporating the solvent, disposing a substrate in the solution, the substrate having an exposed portion patterned into a predetermined shape, and depositing a carbon nanotube on the exposed portion of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6602485
Abstract: A hydrogen occlusion material producing method capable of producing a hydrogen occlusion material during preparation of a carbonaceous material such as carbon nanotubes or the like. A gas atmosphere at a predetermined pressure is formed in a chamber and then a DC current is fed to a pair of carbon electrodes from a discharge power unit while keeping the carbon electrodes spaced from each other at a predetermined interval through a pair of position control units, leading to arc discharge. This results in an anode constituted by platinum metal which exhibits both a catalytic function during preparation of carbon nanotubes and a function of dissociating hydrogen molecules into hydrogen atoms being heated, to thereby produce soot. The soot contains a large amount of hydrogen occlusion material wherein fine particles of the platinum metal are uniformly adhered to single-layer carbon nanotubes, resulting in being used for a hydrogen occlusion material.

  • Patent number: 6346023
Abstract: A method is herein disclosed for preparing a film of a carbon nano-tube to obtain a low cost field emission source using a carbon nano-tube. A single-wall carbon nano-tube is placed together with acetone in a beaker, to which ultrasonic wave is applied to disperse the single-wall carbon nano-tube in acetone. Thereafter, acetone is evaporated spontaneously to deposit the single-wall carbon nano-tube on a copper plate placed in the beaker. The copper plate on the surface of which the single-wall carbon nano-tube is deposited is used for a cathode of an electronic tube.

  • Patent number: 6149775
Abstract: There is provided a method for preparing a single layer carbon nano-tube stably and in high preparation efficiency. Helium is introduced from a gas inlet 19 while exhausting inside a vacuum chamber 11 by means of a rotary pump 12 to prepare an atmosphere of rare gas. DC arc discharge is established between a metal-added carbon electrode to which a single metal is added 13 and a metal-added carbon electrode to which a single metal the kind of which is different from that of the former metal is added 14 by the use of a discharge power source apparatus 17. Carbon and metals are evaporated from both electrodes, and the metals are alloyed to act as a catalyst to the carbon and the single layer carbon nano-tube is prepared.

  • Patent number: 5900687
Abstract: The present invention has an object of providing a rational connection configuration for an inner rotor type stator comprising coil windings provided for each pole blade. Accordingly, the connection configuration of the invention comprises three types of electric conductors corresponding to U-, V- and W-phases, respectively, and shaped like a ring. Each electric conductor has a projection extended in four directions corresponding to four groups of coil windings each of a same phase, and a lead representing each phase and extending outward of an outer diameter of the stator. The electric conductors and a common electric conductor are arranged on an end plate concentrically. Connections between the coil windings and the projections respectively of the same phase are radially arranged at places outward of the grooves of the end plate as to effect connection therebetween.
