  • Publication number: 20090251977
Abstract: A fixing device fixes a toner image on a recording medium. The fixing device includes a heat source that converts electric power into heat and a fixing member that gives the heat generated by the heat source to the recording medium on which the toner image is formed. The fixing device includes a safety circuit that forcibly interrupts voltage supplied from a power supply to the heat source if the temperature in the device detected by a temperature detection sensor exceeds reference temperature. The fixing device has a malfunction preventing circuit that stops the operation of the safety circuit in order to prevent the voltage supplied to the heat source from being forcibly interrupted when the voltage of the power supply supplied to the heat source is unstable.

  • Publication number: 20080248309
Abstract: The invention provides a metal-based carbon fiber composite material that can be prepared with commonly used cheap materials and less energy than in a melt method, has a wide range of dimensions and shapes (particularly large area) and is excellent in the thermal conductivity and light in weight. The metal-based carbon fiber composite material can be obtained by heating and pressure welding a metal and carbon fibers and has a structure in which a metal layer and a carbon fiber-containing metal layer are alternately stacked. The metal-based carbon fiber composite material can be produced by a method comprising the steps of: adhering carbon fibers on a sheet or foil metal support to form a preform; stacking the preforms to form a preform laminate; and heating and pressure welding the preform laminate in a vacuum or non-oxidizing atmosphere to unite the preforms together.

  • Publication number: 20070141315
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a metal-based carbon fiber composite material lightweight, high in the thermal conductivity and also capable of controlling the direction of heat flow, while inhibiting metal carbide formation. The method for producing the metal-based carbon fiber composite material comprises the steps of: obtaining a metal fiber mixture by physically mixing carbon fiber with metal powder; filling the metal fiber mixture into a jig, while the metal fiber mixture is aligned; and setting the jig in an air, vacuum or inert gas atmosphere and directly supplying pulse electric current to the metal fiber mixture, with applying a pressure, to effect sintering by the heat generated therefrom. Here, the composite material contains 10 to 80% by weight of carbon fiber based on a total weight of the composite material and is sintered at 70% or more of ideal density.

  • Patent number: 6496213
Abstract: When the sub-scanning beam position does not fall within a target range by the last directive value, the drift direction of a galvanomirror is estimated on the basis of the last directive value. A directive value is provided to the galvanomirror and then changed so that the sub-scanning beam position is shifted in the estimated direction in steps from the position corresponding to the last directive value. A decision is then made as to whether the directive value in the galvanomirror has reached a predetermined value. When the predetermined value is reached, the galvanomirror is directed to shift the beam position in the direction opposite to the estimated direction in steps from the position corresponding to the last directive value. As a result, a great load is prevented from being imposed on the galvanomirror during the laser beam sub-scanning direction position control.

  • Patent number: 6317146
Abstract: In this invention, a precise multi-beam control process can be effected while suppressing an influence due to the drift of a galvanomirror by effecting the multi-beam position control process during the copying operation, that is, by repeatedly effecting the sub-scanning position control process and main scanning position control process. Therefore, an image can be prevented from being deviated at the front and rear end portions of one sheet of paper.

  • Patent number: 6249307
Abstract: The timing control of optical beams (i.e., the control of the beam positions in the main scanning direction) and the beam amount control of the optical beams for position control (i.e., the control of the beam positions in the sub-scanning direction) are performed independently of the control of the amount of optical beam actually used for printing. Accordingly, the timing control of optical beams and the beam amount control of the optical beams for position control can be performed without reference to the characteristic change which the photosensitive drum may undergo with time. Even when the powers (second powers) of the optical beams incident on the photosensitive drum increase due to the characteristics change of the photosensitive drum or for some other reason, this power increase does not adversely affect the timing control of optical beams, nor does it vary the powers (first powers) of the optical beams which are incident on the optical beam sensor at the time of position control.

  • Patent number: 4765552
Abstract: A drive method for the winding of a yarn wherein the yarn is wound on a bobbin holder and into a yarn package by contacting a contact roller with the package and controlling the number of rotations of the contact roller or tension of the yarn so as to be a predetermined value. When the contact roller is driven by an induction motor and also the contact roller is driven in pressing contact with the package by the induction motor, the number of rotations of the contact roller is given by the following equation: N=n1-(K.multidot.m (n0-n1)/T1), wherein the N indicates the number of rotations (r.p.m.) of the contact roller with which the contact roller is operated in pressing contact with the bobbin holder, the n0 indicates the number of rotations (r.p.m.) which is synchronized to the power frequency of the motor driving the contact roller, the n1 indicates the number of rotations (r.p.m.

  • Patent number: 4166509
Abstract: A process for excavating and constructing a tunnel, and an excavating device are disclosed. This process is directed to excavating and constructing a tunnel under a railway or a road on a banking or on level land in the direction transverse to the railway or road. In this process, pits are dug on the opposite sides of the railway, and then an excavator digs into the wall of a pit on one side so as to go out of the wall of the other pit through the ground left therebetween. In this respect, a hollow casing unit of a box shape is coupled to the rear end of the excavator equipped with a screw conveyor. As the excavator advances or digs forwards a given distance, another casing unit is in turn coupled to the rear end of the preceding casing unit, and then such a step is repeated, until the excavator goes out of the wall of another pit. In this manner, the excavator further digs into the wall of one pit in the position adjacent to the preceding run of casing units.
