Abstract: In an imposition information generating apparatus (2), folding template information (31) indicating an instruction to fold a print sheet is prepared in a memory (24) in advance. When generating imposition information (32), input of selection information including a page size of a book product, a selection whether bag-like portions in a section are to be located on the top or bottom of the section, and a selection which side of the section is to be stitched, is received. Then, the imposition information (32) for printing the print sheet which is to be folded into the section is generated on the basis of the folding template information (31) and the selection information in an imposition information generator (22). As above, by preparing the folding template information (31) in advance, it is possible to generate the imposition information (32) easily.

Abstract: A method for establishing an encrypted communication channel between a first apparatus and a second apparatus by using a session management apparatus. The method includes: establishing a first encrypted communication channel between the session management apparatus and the first apparatus by performing mutual authentication between the session management apparatus and the first apparatus; establishing a second encrypted communication channel between the session management apparatus and the second apparatus by performing mutual authentication between the session management apparatus and the second apparatus; and exchanging key information between the first apparatus and the second apparatus via the first encrypted communication channel and the second encrypted communication channel so as to establish an encrypted communication channel between the first apparatus and the second apparatus.

Abstract: In an area data group of a layout template, information pieces regarding a working-plate area, a paper area, a prepress-working area, a folding area, and a page area are defined as variables. Furthermore, in an accessory data group, the positions of accessories to be associated with the above respective areas are each defined as the relative position of the accessory with respect to a reference point set in a reference area with which the accessory is associated. This enables a layout data generating apparatus to readily respond to a change in printing conditions, such as a change in the size of the page area or the paper area, and quickly generate layout data.

Abstract: A version update method is provided for updating a version of a communication system application program installed in a plurality of terminals connected to a communication network and operating between at least two terminals. The method includes: starting communications between the two of the plurality of terminals; exchanging version information of the communication system application program between the two terminals communicating with each other and making a comparison between the version information held in one terminal and that in the other; making a request for transmitting the communication system application program file of the version not held in either terminal; and transmitting the communication system application program file of the specified version to the terminal making the request.

If the outline forms no closed figure, the operator can easily judge which graphic primitive is unconnected.

Then, the adjacent graphic object is displayed, and the target graphic object is editably displayed. This enables an operator to easily recognize whether or not interference is occurring between the target and adjacent graphic objects, thereby achieving the efficient operation of editing the target graphic object.
