  • Publication number: 20130324795
Abstract: A retractor including an excluding portion having an obtuse distal end, an introduction portion extending from the excluding portion, and a handle portion provided at a proximal end of the introduction portion. The excluding portion and the introduction portion each have an outer diameter that allows insertion into a treatment instrument channel of an endoscope. The excluding portion is configured by a movable wire and a plurality of fixed wires, the movable wire extends through the introduction portion, proximal ends of the fixed wires are fixed to a distal end of the introduction portion, and a distal end of the movable wire and distal ends of the fixed wires are joined to each other. A proximal end of the movable wire is pulled with the handle portion toward the handle portion so the excluding portion develops a cocoon shape. The retractor is useful in minimally-invasive surgery.

  • Patent number: 7473298
Abstract: Charged fine particulate water is provided, which has a nanometer particle size, for example, a particle size of 3 to 100 nm, and contains radicals such as hydroxyl radicals and superoxides. This charged fine particulate water can be generated by applying an electric-field intensity of 700 to 1200 V/mm between a pair of electrodes, while supplying water between the electrodes. By allowing the thus obtained charged fine particulate water to diffuse into an indoor space, it is possible to effectively remove bad odor components/bacteria from the indoor space.

  • Patent number: 7249368
Abstract: The present invention provides a tuner apparatus operating as a common tuner capable of receiving both satellite digital TV and terrestrial TV broadcasting. A tuner configured, according to the invention operates as follows. As the tuner apparatus receives satellite TV broadcasting, intermediate-frequency signals SIF1 are supplied to its quadrature detector circuit where the SIF1 signals are demodulated into baseband signals SI and SQ by using oscillation signals supplied thereto from its oscillator. As the tuner apparatus receives terrestrial TV or CATV broadcasting, terrestrial TV or CATV broadcast wave signals are supplied to its mixer circuit where these signals are frequency-converted into intermediate-frequency signals SIF1 that fall within the bandwidth of the satellite TV broadcasting SIF1 signals.

  • Patent number: 6775418
Abstract: An image processing device detects the correlation between a pixel to be removed in thinning pixel blocks generated by using a delay in horizontal and vertical directions and an adjacent pixel. The device then determines a coefficient corresponding to the correlation. From the pixel to be removed and the adjacent pixel, pixel data is generated by using a predetermined calculation equation. Thinning and reduction of each pixel block in the horizontal and vertical directions thus occurs.
