  • Patent number: 6605257
Abstract: A present micro array manufacturing apparatus includes a substrate placement portion 11 on which a plurality of substrates can be arranged, a tighter plate 12 for storing a solution including a living body sample, a solution storing member 52 for taking in the solution from the tighter plate 12 and storing the solution therein, and a needle 51 which can be inserted into the solution storing member 52 to allow the solution stored in the solution storing member 52 to adhere onto each of the substrates by a given quantity, wherein the solution storing member 52 and needle 51 are moved in directions where they approach and part away from the substrates to thereby form spots on the substrates. And, the individual operations of the solution storing member 52 and needle 51 are carried out by single drive means 32.

  • Publication number: 20020173048
Abstract: A microarraying head 51 has a base portion 57 and a plurality of needles 53. The needles 53 are arranged in parallel with one another on the base portion 57. The needles 53 place a solution on substrates 3 with the top ends of the needles 53 touching substrates 3. Then, the needles 53 retain the solution including biological samples and form spots of the solution on the substrates 3. A space 58 for supplying cleansing fluid or the like is provided in the base portion 57 so as to extend all over the plurality of needles 53. Since the plurality of needles 53 can be all cleansed with substantially uniform pressure applied thereto, all the plurality of needles 53 can cleansed surely in a short time.

  • Patent number: 5667354
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved two-dimensional manipulating robot whose arm assemblies are light enough to permit its manipulating hands to move to a desired position quickly with precision. A two-dimensional manipulating robot comprising a base stand, an upper arm pivotally fixed to said base stand at its rear end, a first drive means associated with said upper arm, a forearm pivotally connected to said upper arm at its rear end and having a manipulating hand at its fore-end, a second drive means associated with said forearm, a control for controlling the angular rotation each of said upper arm and said forearm for bringing said manipulating hand to a desired position, is improved according to the present invention in that said second drive means is fixed to said base stand, and that said robot further comprises rotation transmission means to transmit the rotation of said second drive means to said forearm, thereby permitting it to rotate about the fore-end of said upper arm.

  • Patent number: 5461323
Abstract: Disclosed are improved method and apparatus for testing printed circuit board in which method and apparatus a selected printed circuit board is stretched to be unbent, thus permitting measuring probes to come to contact to selected points on the printed circuit board exactly for measuring, thus preventing undesired deviations of selected measuring points caused by the bending of the printed circuit board in hitting selected measuring points by probes. The printed circuit board tester includes a pair of clamps for gripping the opposite lateral edges of the printed circuit board standing upright; a drive devices for driving the clamps close to or apart from each other; and stretch control device between the drive devices and one of the clamps for applying a controlled stretch to the printed circuit board.
