  • Publication number: 20230242425
Abstract: The present invention provides calcium hypochlorite compositions that dissolve in approximately one week, while displaying both favorable reactivity properties and dissolution characteristics for recreation water treatment. The present invention benefits from the discovery that the dissolution profile of calcium hypochlorite compositions can be altered by providing compositions within a critical density range, for example when provided in the form of a tablet.

  • Publication number: 20230101118
Abstract: Chemical dispensers are provided that include a hollow body member including a bottom end configured to be disposed below a waterline and a top end configured to be disposed above the waterline. The hollow body member defines an interior space disposed between the bottom end and the top end that is configured to accept, through the top end, and hold therein a dissolvable chemical. The dispenser includes a buoyancy member surrounding the hollow body member and configured to provide buoyancy to the dispenser when placed in a body of water such that a first portion of the interior space remains above the waterline and a second portion of the interior space submerges below the waterline. An opening in the hollow body member allows sufficient water flow into the interior space below the waterline such that dissolution or partial dissolution of the dissolvable chemical below the waterline occurs.

  • Patent number: 10241072
Abstract: An electrochemical sensor for the detection and analysis of an analyte in a solution is disclosed. The electrochemical sensor has an electrically non-conductive support; a plurality of electrodes on the support, each electrode formed from an electrode material and having a first surface and an opposite second surface, said first surface facing towards the support and the second surface facing away from the support. The plurality of electrodes includes a reference electrode, a counter electrode, and a working electrode. The working electrode has a reagent composition containing a reagent for detecting an analyte applied directly to the second surface of the working electrode or dispersed throughout the electrode material of the working electrode.

  • Publication number: 20190004000
Abstract: An electrochemical sensor is described that includes a counter electrode that prevents against electrical interference when measuring analytes in a fluid sample. The counter electrode can completely surround a working electrode and a reference electrode and can be held at a common potential voltage during operation. The counter electrode can have a U-shape for surrounding on three sides the working electrode and the reference electrode.
