  • Patent number: 6934738
Abstract: A message processing apparatus which handles messages exchanged over a network and explicitly notifies the recipient of the importance and other information regarding each received message. Incoming messages are received by a receiver employed in the apparatus. Those messages may contain some key information as part of their attribute data, which specifies a handler program relevant to them. A key information extraction unit extracts the key information from each received message. Consulting a table that defines the relationships between handler programs and various key information, a program loading unit then loads a specific handler program relevant to the extracted key information. The recipient may cause an event related to the received message. Depending on what kind of event it is, an execution unit chooses and executes an appropriate primitive process provided as part of the handler program.

  • Patent number: 5805152
Abstract: A video presentation system which easily and economically realizes subject-service linkage in a video image displayed on its screen. The system includes a video display for displaying video data containing a subject with an identifier on a display unit, an identifier recognition unit for recognizing the identifier displayed on the display unit, and a data storing unit for storing the video data and various data associated with the identifier. The system further includes a data management means for obtaining data associated with the recognized identifier from the data storing unit and sending the data to the video display. When the user selects the identifier, the identifier recognition unit recognizes the identifier and the data management unit obtains data associated with the identifier from the data storing unit and outputs to the display.

  • Patent number: 5751296
Abstract: A video presentation system is provided which permits a process in which, when an object in motion video image is handled, an action relating to the object is executed, without increasing load on a central processing unit or a memory. Subject-of-operation information, which defines objects to be handled by a user in relation to each of frames of video data at a transitional phase of time-varying motion of each object, is stored in video operation information retaining means, and when a user operation takes place, the frame position of a currently reproduced video image is acquired from video driving/processing means while screen coordinates of the object are acquired from a coordinates specifying device. Based on the acquired data, video operation information processing means searches the subject-of-operation information to identify the object handled by the user.
