Patent number: 7672571Abstract: In a reproduction apparatus (100A), an information signal generation unit (Pa) generates a first information signal (Sav) from a recording medium (11). An information signal input unit (1, 8a) inputs a second information signal (Stv) which is provided from an external information source via a requested channel. When switching between the information signals, a control unit (8a) stores the current state of reproduction, so that reproduction will be restarted from the stored state when switching back to the original information signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2006Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventor: Toyoaki Unemura

Patent number: 7647607Abstract: First rating information, together with a television broadcasting signal, is transmitted, and second rating information, together with electronic program guide information, is transmitted. A controller extracts the first rating information from video data decoded by a video decoder, and extracts the second rating information from EPG data decoded by an EPG processor. At the time of reserving a program, it is judged whether or not the program can be reserved by restricting viewing on the basis of the second rating information, and the result of the judgment is displayed on a program reservation setting guide.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2002Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventor: Toyoaki Unemura

Patent number: 6798458Abstract: In an image signal converter (ICp1) converting a component video signal (Scv) of an interlaced scanning format for image display on a display device for an image signal of a progressive scanning format (Scv, p) for image display on the display device, an up-converter (11) converts the component video signal (Scv) of the interlaced scanning format into the one of the progressive scanning format. A scanning format determination part (4, 14, 15) determines based on a luminance signal (Y) included in the component video signal (Scv1, Scv2) whether the component video signal (Scv1, Scv2) is of the interlaced or progressive scanning format. Based on the determination result of the scanning format determination part (15), an output destination selector (3B, 15A) selects an output destination of the component video signal (Scv1, Scv2).Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2000Date of Patent: September 28, 2004Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toyoaki Unemura

Patent number: 5771296Abstract: An audio circuit for use in a television receiver and the like compensates for the capacity shortage of a speaker box or low frequency characteristic of the speaker to reproduce vivid and voluminous low frequency sound. L and R signals of the audio signal are mixed, and then an arbitrary low frequency band component is extracted therefrom by a filter having an arbitrary frequency characteristic, and extracted component is bisected by a distribution means, and only low frequency band component is added to the original L and R signals to reproduce the audio signal which is voluminous in a low frequency band. With a low frequency band which is difficult to be reproduced by a speaker, the harmonic is stressed by full-wave rectification means to stress low frequency sound feeling, and when a switching circuit is provided, low frequency sound stressing by an amplifier and low frequency sound harmonic stressing by full-wave rectification means can be easily switched.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1995Date of Patent: June 23, 1998Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toyoaki Unemura

Patent number: 5365276Abstract: The present invention sequentially selects and outputs one of a plurality of video image sources 1 by an image signal source switching means 2, processes the video images by thinning circuit portions 3 and 4, writes in the video data into an image memory 5 and display the images on an image display device 6. Depending upon the detection output of an aspect ratio detecting circuit portion 12, which detects an aspect ratio of an image display of each of the video image source 1, thinning ratios of the thinning circuits 3 and 4 and a write in control circuit portion 9 for the image memory are switched in order to obtain a multiscreen display circuit which can display video signal sources having different aspect ratios.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1992Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoshi Imai, Yutaka Nio, Ken Sakamoto, Keiya Miyoshi, Mitsuji Okawa, Toyoaki Unemura
