  • Patent number: 8163060
Abstract: The heat conductivity of an aluminum composite material containing a fibrous carbon material is enhanced. In order to realize this, a spark plasma sintered body having a fibrous carbon material compounded in a metal matrix powder of aluminum or the like is fabricated. At the time of fabrication, an aluminum powder serving as a matrix mother material is compounded with an Al alloy powder such as an Al-12Si powder having a melting point lower than the sintering temperature of the mother material. During the process of sintering the aluminum powder, the Al alloy powder is melted, whereby the heat conductivity between the aluminum powder particles and between the aluminum powder particle and the fibrous carbon material is improved.

  • Patent number: 8053069
Abstract: A composite material being excellent in heat conductivity is provided. In order to realize this, a fibrous carbon material made of fine tube form structures constituted with single-layer or multiple-layer graphene is present to form a plurality of layers within a substrate made from a spark plasma sintered body of a metal powder, a mixed powder of a metal and ceramics, or a ceramic powder. The fibrous carbon material constituting each layer is made of a mixture obtained by mixing a small amount of a small diameter fiber 2 having an average diameter of 100 nm or less with a large diameter fiber 1 having an average diameter of 500 nm to 100 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20070057415
Abstract: The present invention has an object of providing a carbon nanotube dispersed composite material utilizing as much as possible excellent electric conductivity, heat conductive property and strength property owned by a carbon nanotube itself and taking advantage of features of ceramics having corrosion resistance and heat resistance such as zirconia and the like, and a method of producing the same; and long-chain carbon nanotubes (including also those obtained by previous discharge plasma treatment of only carbon nanotubes) are kneaded and dispersed by a ball mill, planet mill and the like together with calcinable ceramics and metal powder, further, the knead-dispersed material is treated by discharge plasma and this is integrated by sintering by discharge plasma, and carbon nanotubes can be thus dispersed in the form of network in the sintered body, and the electric conductivity property, heat conductive property and strength property of the carbon nanotube can be effectively used together with the properties

  • Patent number: 4440033
Abstract: A compact starting motor device for an engine of improved durability capable of ensuring a smooth and quick engagement of a pinion gear, operatively connected to an electric motor, with a driven gear of the engine upon actuation of an electromagnetic device without generating any substantial shock. The motor is connected through a one-way clutch to an output shaft so that a driving force is transmitted unidirectionally from the motor to the output shaft. The pinion gear is splined to a projecting end of the output shaft for relative axial movement and axially moved thereon to engage and disengage the driven gear by means of a rod which extends coaxially within the output shaft. The rod is connected through an over-load spring to the electromagnetic device having a stationary core and a movable core. A switch for energizing the electric motor is provided on the movable core.

  • Patent number: 4404533
Abstract: At least one yoke member and a bobbin carrying a solenoid are accommodated within a housing, with one end wall of the housing, the yoke member and the bobbin being in axial alignment. An air passage extends through the yoke member, the bobbin and the end wall of the housing to establish communication between the atmosphere and an internal space defined within a cap member which is fixed to the other end of the housing and in which switch contacts are positioned. A sleeve is clamped at its one end between the end wall of the housing and a yoke member, and its other end terminates at an intermediate portion of the bobbin. Said other end of the housing has an annular tip caulked to the cap member along its entire circumference. Further, a stopper is disposed for pressure contact with a portion of the movable core to prohibit movement of the movable core in a direction away from the stationary core beyond a predetermined position.
