  • Patent number: 5091487
Abstract: A vinyl chloride resin for safety glass, comprising either particles of a copolymer of a vinyl chloride monomer and an epoxy-containing monomer, having a particle diameter up to 5 .mu.m and a greater epoxy content in an outer portion than in a an inner portion of the particles, or agglomerates of the particles, and process for the preparation of this resin, comprising either adding an epoxy-containing monomer into a polymerization reaction mixture of a vinyl chloride monomer substantially during a latter half of the polymerization reaction of the polymerization mixture or adding an epoxy-containing monomer and a vinyl chloride monomer either in the form of a mixture solution or separately but at the same time into a polymerization mixture of the vinyl chloride monomer.

  • Patent number: 4999071
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for manufacturing laminated safety glass.A first process comprises the steps of:(A) coating at least one side of a glass plate with a film-forming plastisol composed of an epoxy group containing vinyl chloride resin as an indispensable component;(B) heating said glass plate having a coating to form a gel plastisol layer on at least one side of said glass plate; and(C) laminating another glass plate thereon through the medium of said gel plastisol layer and heating the resulting laminate, thereby bonding said glass plates to each other.A second process comprises the steps of:(a) filling the gap between the surfaces of a plurality of glass plates with a film-forming plastisol composed of an epoxy group-containing vinyl chloride resin as an indispensable component; and(b) heating said plurality of glass plates containing said film-forming plastisol filled into the gap therebetween, thereby bonding said plurality of glass plates to each other.

  • Patent number: 4818781
Abstract: A resin for magnetic coating, which is a copolymer composed of(1) at least 60% by weight of vinyl chloride units,(2) 0.3 to 5.0% by weight, as the carboxyl group, of monomer units containing a carboxyl group,(3) 0.1 to 2.0% by weight, as the hydroxyl group, of monomer units containing the group --X--OH wherein X is an organic group, and(4) up to 20% by weight of units of another monomer, the equivalent ratio of the hydroxyl groups to the carboxyl groups being from 0.1 to 3.0.

  • Patent number: 4558087
Abstract: A vinyl chloride resin composition for production of hard articles. The composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a graft polymer and not more than 40 parts by weight of electrically conductive carbon black. The graft polymer is obtained by polymerizing 99 to 60% by weight of vinyl chloride or a monomeric mixture composed of at least 80% by weight of vinyl chloride and not more than 20% by weight of a monomer copolymerizable with it in the presence of 1 to 40% by weight of a copolymer composed of 5 to 75% by weight of methyl methacrylate and 95 to 25% by weight of ethylene.
