  • Publication number: 20050002349
Abstract: A mobile station apparatus in a CDMA/TDD mobile communication system employs a communication frame including a plurality of time slots. The time slots include a plurality of forward link time slots, disposed at regular intervals in the communication frame and assigned a common control channel. The time slots further include time slots other than the plurality of forward link time slots, divided into reverse link time slots and forward link time slots according to an amount of information on a forward link and on a reverse link. The mobile station apparatus includes a receiver that receives the communication frame including the plurality of time slots. A measurer measures individual reception qualities of the plurality of forward link time slots in the received communication frame including the forward link time slots assigned the common control channel. A weighter assigns a weight to each measured reception quality of the plurality of forward time slots.

  • Patent number: 6738646
Abstract: An allocation section 101 in a base station apparatus of the present invention sets the transmission rate of a transmit signal for a communication terminal apparatus based on a DRC signal transmitted from that communication terminal apparatus. A power margin information detector 117 detects power margin information from a demodulated signal generated by a demodulator 115, and, using that power margin information, a power setting section 118 makes a setting so as to give the minimum transmission power value at which received signal characteristics in each communication terminal apparatus meet the desired quality. Using the set transmission power value, the base station apparatus transmits a transmit signal of the set transmission rate to a communication terminal apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6614770
Abstract: The base station apparatus compresses one-frame information of a broadcast channel to blocks of ½ of one frame or less and repeatedly sends this block in a one-frame time. The mobile station apparatus decodes the received signal in block units or added block units to carry out error detection. The mobile station apparatus receives and adds up the next block in the case that the error rate exceeds a threshold. The mobile station apparatus repeats this until the error rate falls below the threshold. When the error rate falls below the threshold, the mobile station apparatus stops reception of broadcast channel signals and uses the rest of time until a one-frame time elapses to monitor carrier information of a different mobile communication system for handover.

  • Patent number: 6611676
Abstract: The communication terminal apparatus measures reception quality and reports the measurement result to the base station apparatus, and the base station apparatus switches the transmission rate based on the reported result of the reception quality. In this way, the transmission rate is switched starting at the point in time at which the reception quality of the communication terminal apparatus deteriorates. Furthermore, the transmission rate is switched so that the amount of interference with others is within the allowable range according to the channel condition between the communication terminal apparatus and base station apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20030119541
Abstract: A total-transmission-power measurement section 113 measures a total-transmission-power-value output from a transmitting RF circuit 112, and outputs the measured value to a total-transmission-power comparison section 152. A reference-total-transmission-power setting section 151 outputs a reference total-transmission-power-value, which is a target of the total-transmission-power-value of a base station, to the total-transmission-power comparison section 152. The total-transmission-power comparison section 152 outputs instructions to reduce allowable transmission-power-values to allowable-transmission-power setting sections 153 of users 1-n, when a value obtained by subtracting of the reference total-transmission-power-value, which has been input from the reference-total-transmission-power setting section 151, from the total-transmission-power-value input from the total-transmission-power measurement section 113 exceeds a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 6577617
Abstract: The present invention carries out transmission/reception of broadcast channels using only the last downlink slot of subframes using signals having a TDMA structure according to a CDMA/TDD system, and thus flexibly handles various services and avoids problems of interference in self-operated services in particular. The base station communication apparatus repeatedly transmits information contained in broadcast channels by the number of times corresponding to the time-sharing number and appropriately allots uplink and downlink slots, thus making the most of the features of uplink open-loop transmission power control and base station transmission diversity.

  • Publication number: 20030072266
Abstract: In a receiving side apparatus 150, reception quality of receive data is measured by a reception quality measurement section 157, receive data errors are detected by an error detection section 156, and when an error is detected a retransmission request signal and reception quality signal are transmitted multiplexed with transmit data by a transmit frame creation section 158. In a transmitting side apparatus 100, when a retransmission request signal is received a capacity necessary for demodulating data in a receiving side apparatus 150 is detected from a reception quality signal by a scheduling section 110, and data is retransmitted at that capacity. By this means it is possible to reduce the number of data retransmissions during transmission and reception, and to improve transmission efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6522869
Abstract: Signals subjected to orthogonal modulation with a plurality of carrier frequencies are added to detect peak power. Based on the peak power, a coefficient for suppressing an amplitude of a transmission baseband signal is calculated. Using the coefficient, the amplitude of a baseband signal to be inputted to a filter is suppressed. It is thereby possible to suppress the peak power assuredly, and by the effects of the filter, unnecessary frequencies are not generated.

  • Publication number: 20020160797
Abstract: A control signal generation section 106 generates a transmission power control signal for instructing transmission power to a mobile station apparatus on the basis of a comparison result of a measured SIR with a target SIR. A transmission power control section 111 controls transmission processing to a transmission signal including the transmission power control signal generated by the control signal generation section 106 on the basis of a transmission power control signal transmitted by the mobile station apparatus. Moreover, the control signal generation section 106 and the transmission power control section 111 respectively perform the generation of the transmission power control signal and the control of the transmission processing to the transmission signal according to an appearance of a new mobile station apparatus or an appearance of a new interference source.

  • Publication number: 20020155861
Abstract: An assignment section 101 determines communication resource assignment to communication terminals based on a transmission rate at which communication is possible for each subcarrier of each communication terminal, and instructs a buffer section 102 to output forward transmission data. In addition, the assignment section 101 instructs a frame creation section 103 to perform forward transmission data symbolization, and also outputs a signal indicating communication resource assignment to each communication terminal. The buffer section 102 holds forward transmission data, and outputs forward transmission data to the frame creation section 103 in accordance with instructions from the assignment section 101. The frame creation section 103 symbolizes a resource assignment signal and transmission data to create a frame, which it outputs to a spreading section 104.
