  • Publication number: 20020101787
Abstract: A time difference between a broadcast time included in a digital broadcast signal and a device time peculiar to an information processing device is calculated, and an estimated broadcast time is calculated according to the time difference and the device time. Therefore, the estimated broadcast time is calculated without adjusting the device time to the broadcast time. Accordingly, when the device requests a broadcast time, an operation base on the estimated broadcast time can be performed without exerting an influence of the broadcast time on constitutional elements or having a redundant configuration of a clock system.

  • Publication number: 20020075294
Abstract: A receiving board is set into a personal computer, a digital broadcast signal is received in the receiving board, and a high-definition television (HDTV) picture of the digital broadcast signal is decoded in the receiving board. The HDTV picture or an output picture of the personal computer is selected in a selector switch of the personal computer, and the selected HDTV picture or the selected output picture of the personal computer is directly displayed in a CRT of the personal computer or an HDTV monitor of a high-definition television set without passing through a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus of the personal computer. Therefore, because the HDTV picture does not pass through the PCI bus, a user can view the HDTV picture of the digital broadcast signal in the CRT of the personal computer in real time.

  • Patent number: 5933289
Abstract: The present invention provides a movable magnetic head unit including a signal transmission element. The transmission element transmits by wireless, i.e., through noncontact transmission, a control signal for driving an electromechanical transducing element fixed to a rotary magnetic head. Therefore, noises are prevented from appearing on a display, and stable compensation in the deviation of the magnetic head and a high reliability of the magnetic head unit can be attained.

  • Patent number: 5675449
Abstract: The present invention provides a movable magnetic head unit including a signal transmission element. The movable magnetic head is mounted upon a rotary drum of a drum assembly which also includes a stationary drum, the rotary and stationary drums being supported by a shaft. The signal transmission element transmits a control signal wirelessly to the rotary drum to drive an electromechanical transducing element which moves the magnetic head. The signal transmission element may include rotary transformers, mounted on the rotary and stationary drums, facing each other. In a further embodiment, the signal transmission element may include an optical transmitter for optically transmitting the position control signal to an optical receiver mounted on the rotary drum. Wireless transmission of the position control signal prevents noises from appearing on a display, enables stable compensation of deviations of the magnetic head and improves reliability of the magnetic head unit.
