  • Patent number: 6426689
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay includes a yoke having both ends bent in first direction, a coil portion wound onto a central part between the ends of the yoke, a permanent magnet arranged between the ends of the yoke, an armature formed to have a greater length than that between the ends of the yoke and provided on the first side of the permanent magnet and a hinge spring capable of causing both end sides of the armature to be toggle with respect to the ends of the yoke, and the hinge spring integrally fixing the permanent magnet and the armature.

  • Patent number: 4949058
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay comprises an elongated coil bobbin having an axially extending bore and carrying therearound an excitation coil, a generally U-shaped yoke with first and second yoke members, and a generally U-shaped armature with short and long legs connected by a web. The yoke and the armature are magnetically coupled together partly within the axial bore of the coil bobbin to form a magnetic circuit with the excitation coil such that the armature is movable between a set position of closing a relay contact and a reset position of opening the relay contact. The first yoke member extends into the axial bore to define at its free end a first pole end while the second yoke member extending outwardly of the excitation coil to define a second pole end. The short armature leg extends into the bore in an overlying relation with the first pole end, while the long armature leg extends outwardly of the coil in adjacent relation to the second pole end.

  • Patent number: 4707675
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay includes a base of electrically insulation for mounting an electromagnet, an armature and at least one contact assembly including a movable contact. Integrally molded with the base is an envelope having side walls and a top wall for receiving therein the electromagnet which envelope defines on the base outwardly thereof a space for mounting the contact assembly. The side wall of the envelope extends along the entire length of the electromagnet in order to completely separate the contact assembly located outwardly of the envelope from the electromagnet along the entire length thereof for increased insulation resistance therebetween. The armature is mounted on the top wall of the envelope to be movable within a horizontal plane on the top wall and is operatively connected to the movable contact of the contact assembly by a card extending over the side wall adjacent thereto.

  • Patent number: 4570138
Abstract: A balanced armature type relay includes a coil assembly 2 with a coil 20 and an ion core 21 extending through the coil 20, an armature assembly with a pair of frame-shaped upper and lower armatures 3, 4 disposed parallel to each other and so as to surround the coil 20, and a pair of contact units 6, 8 operated by the armature assembly. The coil 20 is covered with a molded portion 23 which has a pair of lateral studs 24 integrally formed with it, the studs 24 defining a horizontal axis about which the armature assembly is pivotal. High accuracy in the positional relation between the pole faces formed by extending ends of the iron core 21 and the respective ends of the armatures 3, 4 cooperating with the pole faces is achieved by the fact that both the pole faces provided on the iron core 21 and the studs 24 form part of the coil assembly which is formed as one common block.

  • Patent number: 4453195
Abstract: A modular relay incorporated in a plugable element is disclosed. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, the relay is of the bistable type, and in response to actuation, is caused to switch state for a predetermined period of time, thus acting as a monostable device. Structure is disclosed for insuring that the state of the relay is known prior to actuation. A particularly advantageous mounting structure is incorporated within the relay comprising multi-step mounting feet. The energizing circuit in accordance with the invention is disposed within the plug socket.
