Abstract: A device for controlling the operation of a camera includes a speed governing member arranged to be operated by a driving force differing from a driving force used for driving shutter blades. The opening speed of the shutter blades is stably controlled by the speed governing member. The control device retards the speed of a shutter blade opening action to enable an automatic focusing action to be performed before the photo-taking aperture actually begins to open after commencement of the shutter blade opening action.

Abstract: A spool drive type camera in which the taking up of the film is carried out only by the rotative force of the spool, while the one-frame advancement of the film is controlled by the revolution of the sprocket as it is driven by the film transportation is provided with automatic switching means for selection of a mode in which the above-described one-frame advancement is effected by the rotative force of the winding up system when a film is not loaded in the above-described camera.

Abstract: In the disclosed automatic focus detection device, two image forming lenses have optical axes fixedly spaced a predetermined distance. Distance measuring elements are arranged near the focal points behind each image forming lens. A holding member holding one of the distance measuring elements is rotated around a shaft outside of the space between the optical axes of the two lenses so as to alter the distance between the distance measuring element and the image forming lens. According to an embodiment, one of the measuring elements is a light source which scans the object through one of the lenses when the holding member is rotated. Rotation of the holding member refocuses the light source throughout its scan.

Abstract: In a mark finder for an auto-focus camera provided with a photographic field mark indicating a picture frame within the field of view of the finder, and a distance measuring area mark indicating the light metering field of a photo-electric in-focus detecting device, the above-described phototgraphic field mark and the above-described distance measuring area mark are formed to be adjustable independently of each other.

Abstract: A camera having a data recording device wherein there are provided an optical path for photographic insertion of data and an optical path for displaying data. Each of these optical paths has a light inlet disposed, independently of the other, in the same light flux emitted from a data source. Photographing data are photographically applied to a film surface and are also displayed inside a view finder by means of a data signal of light which is introduced directly into each of the optical paths.
