  • Patent number: 4239207
Abstract: This invention provides a device for driving a simulated flying object such as a toy aircraft, which is capable of causing the object to make a loop-the-loop flight as well as a circling flight. The device is also capable of causing the object to ascend and descend, repeatedly.

  • Patent number: 4150507
Abstract: The invention set forth pertains to a toy in which a vehicle is moved past one side of a leading station as an object is transferred from the loading station to the vehicle. An inclined ramp is located on the loading station; a carrier is movably mounted on the ramp so as to be capable of being elevated from adjacent to the lower end of the ramp to adjacent to the upper end of the ramp. This carrier includes a platform which supports the object as the carrier is elevated along the ramp. The vehicle is moved along the side of the loading station so as to pass the lower end of the ramp and then to continue toward and beyond the upper end of the ramp, and is provided with a shelf at such a height as to be capable of receiving the object on the platform as the carrier is elevated along the ramp. The carrier and the vehicle are provided with structures which engage one another as the vehicle is so moved so that the vehicle serves to move the carrier along the ramp.

  • Patent number: 4128964
Abstract: A toy in which so-called "ball people"--figurines which are capable of rolling along an inclined surface--are transferred from one location to another in such a way as to amuse a child can be constructed so as to include a composite of several transfer mechanisms serving as a unitary transfer mechanism. The disclosed toy includes a more or less tubular tower which extends upwardly from a base. A threaded shaft extends upwardly through the tower. A carrier is located within the tower and is mounted in such a way that as the shaft is rotated the carrier is capable of lifting a figurine from adjacent to a lower or receiving opening to an upper or discharge opening. An inclined chute is provided on the tower so as to receive such a figurine and transport it to a pickup location. An arm mounted upon the upper end of the shaft carries a holder which is rotatable with respect to the tower.

  • Patent number: 4100696
Abstract: A transfer mechanism intended for use in moving an article such as a figurine from one location to another in a toy can be constructed so as to utilize a wheel which is rotatably mounted on a support structure. The wheel is provided with at least one opening which is sufficiently large so that an article to be transferred will pass through the opening. A carrier is pivotally mounted on the front side of the wheel adjacent to the opening. The carrier is sufficiently heavy so that the action of gravity will maintain the carrier in a substantially vertical position as the wheel is rotated. The carrier is provided with an entrance adjacent to the front side of the wheel which is sufficiently large so as to receive the article to be transferred. During rotation of the wheel the carrier will fit against the wheel so that such an article is held by the carrier until such time as the wheel rotates to a point where the carrier is located so that the article may pass from or to the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4015346
Abstract: A machine for use in teaching the manner in which a clock indicates time appearing more or less as a simulated clock can be constructed so as to utilize a support or housing holding a simulated clock face. Concentric shafts extending through the clock's face are used in conjunction with a mechanical structure for transmitting motion to couple simulated clock hands on the shafts with readout wheels. These wheels are rotatably mounted in the support behind windows through which limited portions of the wheels can be viewed. These windows are normally covered by covers capable of being moved so as to display the portions of the wheels behind them. The wheels are provided with numbers corresponding to positions of the clock hands capable of being viewed through these windows when the covers are lifted. Mechanical structures are employed for the purpose of advancing the clock hands and for the purpose of lifting the covers.
