  • Patent number: 10219616
Abstract: A stand assembly for supporting an object in a cantilevered manner above a surface is disclosed herein. The stand assembly includes a post member; a tray member coupled to the post member, the tray member configured to be rotatable between an active position for supporting the object and a collapsed position; an angular setting mechanism configured to set a user-desired angular position of the tray member relative to the post member; and a latching mechanism configured to maintain the tray member in the active position when engaged with the tray member by preventing a rotation of the tray member. The user-desired angular position setting of the tray member is maintained when the tray member is rotated from the active position to the collapsed position so that the tray member generally returns to the user-desired angular position when the tray member is rotated from the collapsed position to the active position.

  • Patent number: 9629491
Abstract: A clamp assembly for attaching an object to a mounting surface is disclosed herein. The clamp assembly includes an upper clamp member, the upper clamp member including a first aperture formed therethrough for receiving a post member; and a lower clamp member pivotally coupled to the upper clamp member, the lower clamp member including a second aperture formed therethrough for receiving the post member. When the post member is disposed through the first aperture of the upper clamp member and the second aperture of the lower clamp member, the upper and lower clamp members are maintained in a generally stationary position relative to one another, and in an engaging relationship with the mounting surface. The clamp assembly may further include a clamp securement subassembly for additionally securing the upper and lower clamp members in place relative to one another by frictionally engaging an outer surface of the post member.

  • Publication number: 20150108296
Abstract: A collapsible leg assembly configured to elevate an object above a floor surface includes at least one pair of leg members, each of the leg members including an inner tubular member telescopically received within an outer tubular member; an attachment member operatively connecting a first of the outer tubular members to a second of the outer tubular members, thereby establishing a pivotal axis about which the leg members are capable of rotating relative to one another; and at least one pair of latching devices, each of the latching devices being configured to selectively prevent the relative sliding movement of one of the inner tubular members relative to its respective outer tubular member. In one or more embodiments, the attachment member and the pivotal axis defined thereby are disposed at a fixed location along the length of each of the outer tubular members between the first and second ends thereof.

  • Publication number: 20130330118
Abstract: A cable-actuated latching mechanism is disclosed herein. In one or more embodiments, the cable-actuated latching mechanism includes an insert body having at least one groove formed therein; a bent elongated strip disposed in the at least one groove of the insert body; a detent coupled to the bent elongated strip; and an actuation cable or wire operatively coupled to the bent elongated strip, a portion of the actuation cable or wire being disposed in the insert body. When an axial force is applied to the actuation cable or wire of the latching mechanism, the bent elongated strip is elastically deformed and displaced inwardly, thereby displacing the detent in a similar inward manner. In one or more embodiments, the cable-actuated latching mechanism is configured to selectively prevent the relative sliding movement of an inner tubular member relative to an outer tubular member.
