Patent number: 10723138Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to printing systems. In one example, a printing system can include an electrode having a plurality of electrode protrusions associated therewith and a conductive plate. The electrode and conductive plate can be positioned with respect to one another to generate an electric field therebetween and to allow a media substrate to be positioned therebetween to be exposed to the electric field. Additionally, an inkjet print head can form a printed image on the media substrate after exposure to the electric field.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2017Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Tracy A. Publication number: 20060102423Abstract: A back pad for use in connection with a safety harness including at least two spaced back straps. The back pad includes a shield covering at least a portion of each of the back straps of the safety harness. The shield extends between the back straps to cover a portion of a user's back when the safety harness is worn. A full body safety harness to be worn by a person includes an upper torso portion and a lower seat portion. The upper torso portion is operatively connected to the lower seat portion by a first connector on a first lateral side and a second connector on a second lateral side thereof. The first connector and the second connector can, for example, enable forward and rearward rotation of the upper torso portion relative to the lower seat portion (for example, without causing a significant increase in tension in the upper torso portion or the lower seat portion). At least one of the first connector and the second connector includes a shaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Tracy Lang, John Frey, Preston Anderson

The upper torso portion is operatively connected to the lower seat portion by a first connector on a first lateral side and a second connector on a second lateral side thereof. The first connector and the second connector enable forward and rearward rotation of the upper torso portion relative to the lower seat portion (as in the case of forward and rearward bending by a user of the harness) without causing a significant increase in tension in the lower seat portion. A safety harness to be worn by a person which includes at least one strap section including a cam buckle in operative connection therewith to adjust a fit of the strap section. A safety harness includes a label pack system including a base having an attachment mechanism to attach the base to a strap of the safety harness and a closure in operative connection with the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventors: John Frey, Preston Anderson, Tracy Lang

Patent number: 6807665Abstract: A manufacturer installs software by first partitioning storage media of the computing system into a first partition and a second partition. The manufacturer installs software bundles Into the second partition. Each software bundle is stored in form as an image. The manufacturer also installs bootable software and a user interface into the first partition. The bootable software and the user interface when run, operate to receive from a user a selection as to which of the software bundles to install in the computing system. The software bundle selected by the user is installed into the first partition while overwriting the bootable software and the user interface. After installation of the software bundle selected by the user, the bootable software, for example, can erase the installation software bundles in the second partition. This is done, for example, by overwriting the second partition with a blank file system.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2001Date of Patent: October 19, 2004Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L. Publication number: 20020095672Abstract: Software to be installed is transferred from a software provider to a manufacturer. The operating system software is transferred in image-based format. Hardware specific software is transferred in file-based format. The manufacturer installs the software into the computing systems. Multiple operating system software bundles can be transferred to the manufacturer. In this case, the manufacturer selects which of the multiple operating system bundles and which of the hardware specific software bundles to install into each computing system. Alternatively, the manufacturer installs software by first partitioning storage media of the computing system into a first partition and a second partition. The manufacturer installs software bundles into the second partition. Each software bundle is stored in form as an image. The manufacturer also installs bootable software and a user interface into the first partition.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2001Publication date: July 18, 2002Inventors: Tracy J. Patent number: 5825625Abstract: A heat conductive substrate is mounted within a through-opening of a printed circuit board. An integrated circuit then is mounted to one side of the heat conductive substrate, while a heat sink is fixed in thermal contact to the other side of the substrate. There is no direct thermal contact between the IC and the PC board. The substrate is mounted to an undersurface of the PC board and concentrically spaced from the PC board within the opening. An air gap occurs between the substrate and the PC board within the opening to substantially reduce heat conductivity into the PC board.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1996Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Dennis R.
