  • Patent number: 10640297
Abstract: A transport system and method useful for autonomously or semi-autonomously transporting and positioning materials or components in an industrial facility. In one example in use for passenger vehicle body assembly, a transport device includes a lift device and first and second build devices for alternately supporting a workpiece. The transport device includes a clearance opening for passage by the second build device along the path of travel. The transport device positions the first build device and workpiece over the second build device and deposits the workpiece on the lower second build device for processing. When the process is complete, the first build device re-engages the workpiece for movement to another workstation.

  • Publication number: 20150227602
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing content data storage services to a remote device over the internet to enable access of the remote device in the cloud. A content data storage device receives data indicative of a subscription to content data storage services from a remote device. The content data storage device provisions cloud storage to provide the content data storage services subscribed to by the remote device. Data associated with the remote device is replicated to the provisioned cloud storage to provide a replicated device in the cloud. Data indicative of a request to use the replicated device in the cloud is received. The content data storage device executes the replicated device in the cloud, thereby providing access of the remote device in the cloud for the remote device.

  • Publication number: 20150227601
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for remotely backing up data associated with a plurality of storage environments. A first computing device receives a storage type associated with a second computing device managed by the first computing device. Storage parameters are configured based on the storage type to customize a backup process for the second computing device based on the storage type. Data associated with the second computing device is protected using the storage parameters, wherein protecting data associated with the second computing device further includes copying at a first point in time a full copy of data associated with the second computing device, and copying changes to the data associated with the second computing device at a set of points in time later than the first point in time, the set of points in time being based on an end-user policy.

  • Publication number: 20150227600
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for creating, in a network, a single instance of deduplicated data across a plurality of end user data. A first computing device receives data associated with a plurality of computing devices, the plurality of computing devices being managed by the first computing device. The first computing device aggregates and deduplicates the data associated with each of the plurality of computing devices. The deduplicated aggregated data set is then transmitted to a second computing device for further aggregation and deduplication with one or more additional aggregated data sets generated by other computing devices managing respective sets of computing devices.

  • Publication number: 20150142748
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating a live copy of a data object from a production system for use by third party applications. The systems and methods include receiving at least one request for a copy of production data from an application; creating a live backup copy; creating a flash copy of the live backup copy, and a flash copy bitmap; creating a modified version of the live backup copy by changing a subset of data in the live backup copy; recording the changed subset of data using the flash copy bitmap; mounting, the modified version of the live backup copy to the application; and transforming the modified version of the live backup copy back to the live backup copy when unmounting the modified version of the live backup copy of the production data from the application by applying changes associated with the flash copy bitmap to the live backup copy.

  • Publication number: 20050278061
Abstract: A process of fabricating aerospace parts using selective laser sintering is provided, wherein the process generally comprises the steps of preparing a powder nylon material, loading the powder nylon material into a laser sintering machine, warming up the powder nylon material according to build warm-up parameters, building the part according to build parameters and part parameters, and cooling down the part according to build cool-down parameters. As a result, parts are produced that are directly used in aerospace structures, which meet the stringent performance requirements of aerospace applications, rather than as rapid prototypes as with conventional selective laser sintering processes. Additionally, specific designs for aerospace parts such as ducts, panels, and shrouds are provided that are produced by the selective laser sintering process.

  • Patent number: 5276867
Abstract: A digital data storage apparatus has primary, secondary and backing storage elements characterized by respectively longer access times. A level detector signals when the quantity of data in the secondary store exceeds a threshold amount. A data migrator responds by moving selected data files from the secondary store to the backing store. The apparatus also includes a baseline back-up element that stores archive copies of a set of selected data files. A full back-up element stores archive copies of those files that, (1) were originally copied to the baseline back-up set but have since changed, or (2) are not otherwise within the baseline back-up set. For those files which were originally copied to the baseline back-up set and which have not changed, the full back-up element stores pointers indicating locations of the respective files in the baseline back-up set.
