  • Patent number: 11852431
Abstract: The invention disclosed herein provides a system and a method for a single-use firearm and personal defense system. The system includes a single-use firearm capable of firing a projectile. The single-use firearm capable of firing a projectile comprises a firearm frame, at least a first barrel, a trigger operable to actuate a striking of at least a first ammunition cartridge, and an ammunition locking system, wherein the ammunition locking system permanently locks the at least first ammunition cartridge within the firearm, whereby once locked, the at least a first ammunition cartridge may not be removed or reloaded without permanently damaging the firearm. The system also incorporates internal electronics for, among other things, tracking, notifying, and monitoring the firearm and its users.

  • Patent number: 10752964
Abstract: Methods for conveying Phytophthora sojae resistance into non-resistant soybean germplasm are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include introgressing Phytophthora sojae resistance into a non-resistant soybean using one or more nucleic acid markers for marker-assisted breeding among soybean lines to be used in a soybean breeding program, wherein the markers are linked to and/or associated with Phytophthora sojae resistance. Also provided are single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with resistance to pathogens; soybean plants, seeds, and tissue cultures produced by any of the disclosed methods; seed produced by the disclosed soybean plants; and compositions including amplification primer pairs capable of initiating DNA polymerization by a DNA polymerase on soybean nucleic acid templates to generate soybean marker amplicons to be used in selecting or identifying Phytophthora sojae resistant soybean lines.

  • Patent number: 9964530
Abstract: A confined space entry station is disclosed. The station has a back plate, an accessory holder, and a probe holding arm. The back plate is configured to attach to a manway of a confined space. The accessory holder is connected to the back plate. The probe holding arm has a connecting segment and a probe holding segment. The probe holding arm has a deployed position and a stored position. The connecting segment is connected to the probe holding segment. The probe holding segment is transverse to the connecting segment. The connecting segment is pivotally connected to the back plate and extends beyond the back plate when the probe holding arm is in the deployed position. The probe holding segment has a surface for supporting a probe. The probe holding segment extends transverse to the back plate when the probe holding arm is in the deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20030066739
Abstract: A controller that provides tactile feedback to an operator comprises a base having force-sensing elements disposed thereon, the base defining a sensing plane having first and second orthogonal axes therein, and a force-transmitting member orthogonally disposed with respect to the base, the force-transmitting member defining a third axis mutually orthogonal with the first and second axes. The force transmitting member moves at least along the third axis in response to an applied force, both to generate an electrically discernible indication and to provide tactile feedback to an operator.
