  • Publication number: 20210259071
Abstract: A technique for uniquely identifying a light fixture for use in a positioning system may include providing a first set of LED and a second set of LED in the light fixture, and controlling the first set of LED differently from the second set of LED such that a camera having the light fixture within its field of view captures images in which the first set of LED appears to emit light and the second set of LED appears to emit no light to form a detectable pattern uniquely associated with the light fixture.

  • Publication number: 20180027619
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to a device, method, and medium storing instructions for execution by a processor for protecting a driver from arcing. For example, a device for protecting a driver from arcing may include a gate drive circuit connected to a high-side switch and a low-side switch to control to operation of a converter in the device. The device may also include a processor to send a control signal to the gate drive circuit when the processor receives an indication of arcing from a voltage sensor in the device, the control signal to delay an operation by the converter.

  • Patent number: 9805859
Abstract: A magnetic device for an electronic circuit includes a bobbin having a bobbin body with an axial passage, a first pin rail, and a second pin rail. A winding can be disposed around the bobbin body. A core can have a core leg extending into the axial passage. The bobbin can be disposed on a printed circuit board. The core and the winding can be elevated off of the printed circuit board. The bobbin can include a first spacing member positioned between the bobbin body and the first pin rail, and a second spacing member positioned between the bobbin body and the second pin rail. The core can be positioned on the first and second spacing members such that the core is at an offset position from the first and second bobbin pin rails. The winding can additionally be offset from the first and second pin rails.

  • Patent number: 9521724
Abstract: A lighting system includes a system controller, at least one light fixture, and at least one non-fixture system device. The system controller initiates automated commissioning by instructing a light fixture of the lighting system to modulate light output by the light fixture with a commissioning code. At least one system device of the lighting system receives the modulated light output and demodulates the received light output to determine the commissioning code. In response to determining the commissioning code, the at least one system device sends an acknowledgment message to the system controller. The system controller associates the system devices sending an acknowledgment message with the light fixture providing the light output modulated with the commissioning code.

  • Patent number: 9115877
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for a light emitting diode module provides a support structure for attaching a light emitting diode module directly to a light bulb in a lighting system. A bulb bracket includes a bulb clip that can be mechanically attached to a conventional bulb such as a fluorescent, neon or incandescent light bulb. A light emitting diode module can be secured to the bulb bracket using a module clip or another attachment disposed between the bracket and the module. Additional light emitting diode support structures include a mounting bar securable directly to a light bulb or other structure in a lighting system such as a sign box wall. An expandable support bracket is also provided for supporting one or more light emitting diode modules.

  • Patent number: 8498124
Abstract: A magnetic component provides both electrical interconnectivity and mechanical support between stacked circuit boards. The magnetic component includes a bobbin structure and a magnetically permeable core. The bobbin structure includes an upper bobbin pin rail and a lower bobbin pin rail. The upper bobbin pin rail includes one or more upper bobbin pins extending from the upper bobbin pin rail. Each upper bobbin pin may be adapted for soldering onto a first circuit board. At least one lower bobbin pin extends from the lower bobbin pin rail. Each lower bobbin pin may also be adapted for soldering onto a second circuit board, forming a circuit board assembly. Each soldered connection between a bobbin pin and a circuit board may provide an electrical connection between the circuit board and the magnetic component. Each soldered connection may also provide a mechanical attachment between a printed circuit board and the magnetic component.

An expandable support bracket is also provided for supporting one or more light emitting diode modules. A method of retrofitting a lighting system to use a light emitting diode module is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8310160
Abstract: An arc protection circuit is provided for a current-fed, parallel-resonant inverter ballast, the circuit having a lamp signal sensing circuit coupled across one or more lamps and designed to detect a signal through the lamps, a shutdown circuit coupled to the sensing circuit and operable to disable the ballast in response to a disturbance such as an arc in the detected signal, at least a portion of the shutdown circuit defining a first time delay from detection of the disturbance in the signal during which the ballast operates normally, and after which the ballast may be disabled in response to the disturbance; and an automatic restart circuit coupled to the shutdown circuit and operable to enable restarting of the ballast, at least a portion of the restart circuit defining a second time delay during which the ballast remains disabled, after which the ballast may be restarted.
