    Abstract: A system and method of building a package for software targets in a flash memory. Each software target can be identified by a unique identifier and include an image for encoded information. The method can include generating a target specification file for each of the software targets, generating a package specification file that includes a work order containing work order information indicating an installation process for the software targets, and building a package that includes the software targets, the target specification files, and the package specification file. The method can also include flashing, in the flash memory, a software target in accordance with the installation process and a respective installation command.

    Abstract: A communication apparatus is provided, which may include a node having a processor and a computer-readable medium, the node being associated with an electrical component of a real-time embedded control system configured to control one or more electronic components. The communication apparatus may further include a program stored on the computer readable medium that, when executed by the processor, is operable to identify data to be communicated, and divide the data into one or more frames. Each frame may include a frame header and a frame data payload portion. The frame data payload portion may include one or more segments, forming a sequence of segments, each segment including a segment header including segment data indicating a location of the segment in the sequence. The segment may also include a segment data payload portion.
