Abstract: A thermal management system, including a fan including: a fan housing; an impeller coupled to the fan housing; a fin stack coupled to the fan; a heat pipe having a first end and a second end, the heat pipe in thermal communication with a computing element at the first end of the heat pipe; a vapor chamber coupled to the fan housing, the vapor chamber and the fan housing encasing the impeller, the vapor chamber coupled to the second end of the heat pipe, the vapor chamber in fluid communication with the heat pipe, wherein the heat pipe is configured to transfer thermal energy from the computing element at the first end of the heat pipe to the second end of the heat pipe such that the thermal energy is transferred to the vapor chamber, wherein the impeller transfers the thermal energy at the vapor chamber to the fin stack.

Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a thin heatpipe may comprise a tube with a wick formed as a plurality of longitudinal ridges, each ridge in contact with a first portion of an inner surface corresponding to a first side of the tube and extending to contact a portion of the inner surface associated with an opposite side of the tube. The ridges may divide the interior of the tube into a plurality of vapor cavity areas.

Abstract: Systems and methods for burst power limit control in heterogenous computing platforms are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include: a heterogeneous computing platform having a plurality of devices; and a memory coupled to the heterogeneous computing platform, where the memory includes firmware instructions that, upon execution by at least one of the plurality of devices, causes the at least one device to operate as an orchestrator configured to: compare a current power level used by a selected device against a burst power limit; and in response to a determination that the current power level exceeds the burst power limit, control the selected device to reduce the current power level.

The information handling system further includes a magnetically suspended fan comprising a fan including a plurality of fan blades, a first set of permanent magnets operatively coupled to the plurality of fan blades, a second set of permanent magnets operatively coupled to an interior side of a top chassis cover of the information handling system, a third set of permanent magnets operatively coupled to an interior side of a bottom chassis cover of the information handling system. The second set of permanent magnets and third set of permanent magnets repel the first set of permanent magnets to suspend the plurality of fan blades between the top chassis cover and bottom chassis cover.

Abstract: An information handling system executing an integrated antenna power and cooling management system may comprise an antenna situated nearby components of the information handling system, a chassis enclosing the information handling system, the antenna, and a wireless interface device with a wireless radio to generate a signal to transmit data via the antenna, where the components and the chassis are capable of absorbing a total thermal heat capacity, the chassis having an outer surface coming into contact with human skin during execution of the information handling system, a temperature sensor to determine an operating temperature of the information handling system reaching a control point value, and a processor executing code instructions to estimate antenna thermal output during data transmission relative to the total thermal heat capacity of the components, based on the operating temperature of the information handling system, and control an active cooling system for cooling the chassis.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing performance in heterogenous computing platforms of IHS (Information Handling Systems) are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a heterogeneous computing platform includes devices and a memory storing firmware instructions. Based on execution of these firmware instructions by a respective device, a corresponding firmware service is provided such that one of the devices operates as an orchestrator. The orchestrator receives reports of changes in context of operation of the IHS by a user and based on the change in user context, determines responsiveness settings that are mapped to the reported user context, where the responsiveness settings adjust thread management policies by one or more processors of the heterogeneous computing platform. The orchestrator configures the one or more processors of the heterogeneous computing platform based on the responsiveness settings, and thus adjusts the performance of the IHS in response to the change in user context.
