Abstract: A storage, shipping, display and dispensing package includes providing maximum protection for roll material during shipment by allowing the material to be shipped with its backing up, while permitting dispensing and display of the material face side up without rewinding. End pieces held adjacent the roll material by core inserts prevent coning while supporting the roll for rotation. The core inserts are barbed to preclude accidental withdrawal and have low friction bearing surfaces which ride in the end pieces and rotatably support the roll within the container. An access opening in the front face of the container permits the carpet to be dispensed and selectively positioned slots and tabs allow like containers to be stacked one above the other and locked together.
