A cap can include a crown that can be placed over the face and that can be at least partially disconnected to provide a viewing aperture, and overlapping layers that cover the mouth and nose. The headband of the cap can be converted to straps for securing around the head. A visor can be configured to shade the eyes in both the cap configuration and the face mask configuration. A one-way breathing valve can be included in the crown to assist with breathing when the face mask is worn.
