Patent number: 11963920Abstract: A vibration appliance includes a vibration-isolation structure which substantially reduces vibration felt by the user at the handle. The vibration motor is mounted to a vibration plate which carries the massage node. The vibration plate floats within the vibration appliance housing, being suspended by a flexible, elastomer membrane having contours such as curves or folds in it that provide freedom of movement of the vibration plate relative to the housing to which the flexible membrane is mounted. This arrangement can be thought of as the motor and vibration node being mounted on a flexible diaphragm that can move freely as if mounted to the housing by a bellows-like arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Pado, Inc.Inventors: Steven Lee, Alejandro Garfio, Travis Frye

Publication number: 20210283005Abstract: A percussive massage appliance has a general Y-shape, with first and second handle portions being suitable for being held by first and second hands, respectively, of a user, with the percussive massage head reciprocating along an axis that lies in a major arc defined by the two handle portions. One use for the device is so that a user can grip the device with both hands while delivering a percussive massage to his own lower back muscles. The device has a rotation mechanism such that the user can rotate the reciprocation axis through an arc of about 120 degrees relative to the handles, and an extension handle mates with one of the handle portions, providing great versatility to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2021Publication date: September 16, 2021Applicant: Pado, Inc.Inventors: Steven Lee, Alejandro Garfio, Travis Frye

Publication number: 20190247271Abstract: A personal massage apparatus employs a single motor to selectively provide the dual action of either a vibrating massage or a percussive massage. Two sprag bearings are mounted on the drive shaft of the electric motor, with the sprag bearings being oriented such that the first sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates counter-clockwise, and the second sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates clockwise. The first sprag bearing has an eccentric weight coupled thereto such that vibration for a vibrational massage is caused when the motor rotates counter-clockwise. The second sprag bearing has crankshaft and crank pin coupled thereto, driving a connecting rod in reciprocating motion to drive a percussive massage head when the motor rotates clockwise. A counterbalance on the crankshaft minimizes vibration when the percussion action is selected.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2019Publication date: August 15, 2019Applicant: Pado, Inc.Inventors: Steven Lee, Alejandro Garfio, Travis Frye
