Publication number: 20230242772Abstract: The present invention relates to a retroreflective powder coating composition that includes: (a) a binder including a film-forming resin; and (b) a plurality of particles in which at least a portion of the particles include particles at least partially coated with a metallic material. The coating composition has a glass plate flow of 40 mm or less before addition of the plurality of particles, and/or at least portion of the particles are further coated with an additional material that lowers a surface energy of the particles. A method of forming a coating is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2021Publication date: August 3, 2023Applicant: PPG Industries Ohio, Inc.Inventors: Paul William Bradley, James William Stuck, Travis Owen Bush

POWDER COATING COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A POLYESTER AND A FLUOROPOLYMER AND COATINGS FORMED THEREFROM
Publication number: 20220348786Abstract: A powder coating composition can include: a polyester polymer having carboxylic acid functional groups; a first crosslinker reactive with the carboxylic acid functional groups of the polyester polymer; and a fluoropolymer unreactive with the polyester polymer and first crosslinker. A weight ratio of the polyester polymer to the fluoropolymer is from 80:20 to 60:40. When cured, the powder coating composition forms a single coating layer including the polyester polymer and the fluoropolymer.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2020Publication date: November 3, 2022Applicant: PPG Industries Ohio, Inc.Inventors: Travis Owen Bush, Paul W. Bradley, Victor A. Monroy, John C. Reising, Lan Deng -
Patent number: 11058960Abstract: An interactive modular sensor system for an indoor skydiving wind tunnel. The system comprises a plurality of nodes arranged around the flight chamber of the wind tunnel. The nodes have at least one sensor and at least one light source. The sensors are configured to detect user movement within the flight chamber. The light sources are configured to change appearance between at least two indicator states. A network connects the plurality of nodes. A program coordinates the activity of the nodes, whereby each of the nodes may be individually controlled. The program may include various modes with different user objectives and rules. Users are directed to perform or not perform actions by the light source indicator states of each node, and the sensor monitors for the occurrence of such actions. Information from multiple systems may be compiled in an inter-tunnel system. Other aspects of the system are also described.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2018Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: IFLY HOLDINGS, LLCInventors: N. Alan Metni, Anthony Robert Gioia, Eric Travis Owens, Wade Austin Lewis, Justin Eugene Waldron, Casey Judson Gardiner
