Abstract: An electronic commerce system for categorizing products and services using item types in order for the products and services to be posted to online marketplaces or advertising websites. The item types are associated with a plurality of categories from a number of online marketplaces and online advertising websites. Each item type can be general or specific and have propeny/value pairs, the property/value pairs either being required or optional. Each specific item type is associated with a generic item type, wherein all specific item types are associated with the generic item type include property/value pairs of the generic item type.

Abstract: An interactive application on a graphical user interface (GUI). The application allows a user to communicate with their device through a two-way dialogue between a digital character and a user profile operated by the user, the conversation driven by an XML based document and having behavior identical to short message services. In one illustrative embodiment, the user interface includes chat bubbles between the digital character and the user profile to obtain information from the user. Associated with the chat bubbles are input controls, the input controls allowing the user to enter in information. The user interface provides single selection controls, multi-selection controls, numeric controls, text entry controls, physical dimension controls, and pricing selection controls to provide a user friendly environment.

Abstract: A server-side parameterization of a client-generated free-form string for reducing the number of server calls, the keywords within the string detailing information about an item evaluated by the server to produce recommendation data and automatically generated data about the item to the client. The client device receives input from a user. In turn, the client device generates a free-form string from the input. The server receives the free-form string of keywords. The server processes the free-form string and returns a parameterization of the keywords within the free-form string back to the client device. The parameterization of the string by the server can include matching condition keywords, matching manufacturer keywords, matching model keywords, applying category recommendations, applying user-specific recommendations, applying server-specific recommendations, applying attribute recommendations, auto-generating titles, and auto-generating descriptions.

Abstract: A system for prompting data input by a user on a wireless device to prepare a listing for an item to be sold on a sales service provider site utilizing an integrated camera on the wireless device to obtain images of the item which are integrated into the listing. Upon completion of the listing, a sales service provider is contacted wirelessly by the device and the listing is transferred to the provider. Upon completion of a transaction by the provider, the wireless device receives transaction data for completion of the sale by the user. Prompts are provided on the display using screens with touchpad capability for data entry. Still and video images are prompted by the system and integrated camera capability in the wireless device is used to obtain the images.
