  • Publication number: 20240082779
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing operation of a rotating packed bed desorber or regenerator wherein a rich solvent is input and CO2 product and lean solvent are output includes collecting condensed water from a regeneration section of a rotating packed bed desorber system. The collected condensed water is then repressurized and reheated to generate steam and the steam is injected into the rotating packed bed desorber or regenerator as stripping vapors while heating rich solvent.

  • Patent number: 11471825
Abstract: Processes and systems for the capture of CO2 from a CO2-containing gas stream are provided. The CO2-containing gas stream is passed to a membrane contactor absorber wherein the CO2-containing gas contacts or passes a first side of a membrane element while a CO2 selective solvent with a viscosity between 0.2 and 7 cP contacts, passes or flows on second side of the membrane, opposed to the first side. The CO2 permeates through the hollow fiber membrane pores and is chemically absorbed into the solvent.

    Assignee: GAS TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE
Inventors: Shiguang Li, Travis Pyrzynski, Howard Meyer, Naomi Klinghoffer, Timothy Tamale
  • Patent number: 11117092
Abstract: Processes and systems for the energy efficient capture of CO2 from a flue gas stream such as produced or resulting from power plant operation, are provided. The processes and systems integrate the use of high CO2/N2 selectivity membranes and high CO2 flux membranes, to capture CO2. Useful membranes can desirably be graphene oxide-based membranes.
