  • Patent number: 11483163
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to one or more line replacement units (“LRUs”) for an airplane including a method for provisioning a second line replacement unit (“LRU”) using a first LRU in an airplane. The method includes providing, by the first LRU, a communication to the second LRU to request a certificate signing request (“CSR”) based on a public-private key pair generated by the second LRU; obtaining the CSR from the first LRU; providing the CSR and a certificate revocation request for a replaced LRU to a certificate authority (“CA”); obtaining a composite airline modifiable information (“AMI”) comprising a public key certificate associated with a private key generated by the first LRU; and providing the composite AMI to the first LRU.

  • Patent number: 10652027
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to one or more line replacement units (“LRUs”) for an airplane. The LRUs can include airline modifiable information (“AMI”) that includes more than one public key certificates, wherein each of the more than one public key certificates uniquely identifies the airplane for ground communication based, at least in part, on a public key or a private key associated with the one or more public/private key pairs generated by a cryptographic key generator.

  • Patent number: 9444849
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for enforcing policy compliance on a device that includes detecting a compliance action associated with an electronic device. The compliance action initiates verification that the electronic device is in compliance with a policy. The method also includes sending configuration information for the electronic device to a compliance authenticator in response to the compliance action. The compliance authenticator verifies that the configuration information complies with a policy. Further, the method includes receiving an authentication certificate in response to the compliance authenticator verifying the configuration information complies with the policy. The authentication certificate expires after a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 9257048
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a landing site for an aircraft is presented. The landing site is selected from a group of landing sites. A description is communicated to a platform about a state of the aircraft along a route of the aircraft over time to the landing site. The aircraft is flown to the landing site using the description of the state of the aircraft along the route of the aircraft over time.

  • Patent number: 8255112
Abstract: Remotely performed maintenance of a transportation unit such as an aircraft is disclosed, wherein the maintenance is performed utilizing a networked environment. In one implementation, a first network, located within the mobile transportation unit, is accessed from a second network, located externally to the mobile transportation unit. Having remotely assessed the first network, communication with one or more assets of the mobile transportation unit, which are connected to the first network, is possible. Maintenance operations are then performed by exchanging data and commands with the assets of the mobile transportation unit.

  • Patent number: 8185944
Abstract: A server for transferring data between networks. The server is programmed to perform the following steps: (a) creating a receiving process, a filtering process and a forwarding process, the filtering process being dictated by a file that specifies filtering rules, wherein: (b) the receiving process receives data transmitted from a source host; (c) the filtering process filters the transmitted data based on the filtering rules; and (d) the forwarding process forwards only filtered data to a destination host.
