  • Publication number: 20060225496
Abstract: A method of calculating a system level air data parameter for an aircraft, for example aircraft angle-of-attack (AOA) and/or angle-of-sideslip (AOS), includes measuring a plurality of local static pressures pi. Next, a plurality of non-dimensional pressure ratios are each generated as a function of one of the plurality of local static pressures pi, a predicted system static pressure Pspredicted, and a predicted impact pressure qc predicted. Then, the system level air data parameter is calculated as a function of the generated plurality of non-dimensional pressure ratios. Air data systems having air data computers configured to implement the method are also disclosed. The air data systems can be Flush Air Data Systems (FADS), or other types of air data systems.

  • Publication number: 20060212181
Abstract: A method of calculating a system level air data parameter for an aircraft using a flush air data system includes measuring local static pressures using the pressure sensing ports. Next, impact pressure effecting conditions are determined. Based on the determined impact pressure effecting conditions, one of multiple different algorithms is selected for generating an impact pressure dependent parameter. The impact pressure dependent parameter is then generated using the selected algorithm. Finally, the system level air data parameter is calculated as a function of the generated impact pressure dependent parameter. A flush air data system includes the flush static pressure sensing ports and an air data computer configured to implement the steps of the method.

  • Publication number: 20060198942
Abstract: A method and device for coating a medical device, such as a stent, including forming coating droplets using a mesh nebulizer and transporting the coating droplets to the medical device, for example through a converging chamber. The coating droplets may be accelerated to a speed sufficient to break the coating droplets into smaller droplets upon impact with the medical device. The mesh nebulizer may have a convex inlet side and may form a converging plume of coating droplets. The mesh nebulizer may have one or more groups of pores, the pores within each group may be subject to similar amplitudes of vibration. The coating material may be heated or cooled prior to nebulizing. The chamber may include baffles configured to allow only a predetermined size range of coating particles to pass.
