  • Patent number: 9611724
Abstract: A damper is provided for a well system. The well system utilizes a pressure pulse generator in the wellbore to generate a pressure pulse through fluid, such as treatment fluid, in the wellbore. The damper is received in the wellbore to damp transmission of the pressure pulse through the fluid while also allowing fluid to flow through the wellbore between a terranean surface and a location adjacent the pressure pulse generator. In certain instances, the damper allows flow of fluid past the damper while damping transmission of the pressure pulse through the fluid.

Date of Patent: April 4, 2017
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services Inc.
Inventors: Timothy Holiman Hunter, Travis Wayne Cavender
  • Publication number: 20160230515
Abstract: A system is configured to fracture a formation surrounding a subterranean wellbore. In one example, the system includes a tool string configured to be deployed in the wellbore, and an acoustic pulse generator connected to the tool string and configured to transmit acoustic pressure pulses into the formation. The acoustic pulse generator is configured to generate acoustic pressure pulses with a magnitude of at least 1000 pounds per square inch.

  • Patent number: 6763885
Abstract: A gas storage and production system decreases production of formation sand and permits high gas flow rates in storing and producing operations. In a described embodiment, different flowpaths are used for injecting and withdrawing gas from a subterranean formation. In another embodiment, a gravel pack is confined to a set volume, so that it is not expanded when gas flows at a relatively high rate therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6634429
Abstract: Improved methods and apparatus for isolating and opening a subterranean zone in a multiple zone well. An isolation tool is installed in the well with a tubing string accessing a particular zone. The tool can be remotely opened and closed to provide access to the zone either mechanically or by applying pressure variation sequences to the tool.
