  • Publication number: 20220183305
Abstract: A pneumatic animal stunner for stunning an animal for later processing uses sensor technology to measure the speed of a stunning rod disposed in the stunner housing as it is driven forward via pneumatic forces. At least one sensor may be disposed in a nose connected to a front end of the housing, in the housing, or in a tail end of the housing. The at least one sensor communicates with a receiver that can process and display the speed data collected from the at least one sensor as the stunning rod drives forward. The receiver can be disposed on the housing of the stunner, or may be a separate component from the stunner. The data may be sent from the at least one sensor to the receiver via a wireless or wired connection. Multiple methods of measuring the stunning rod speed may be employed.

  • Patent number: 11278031
Abstract: A reduced pressure pneumatic animal stunner with a low-complexity valve and venting system, and method of use thereof, is disclosed. The stunner includes a hollow housing, a stunning rod chamber, a head contact movable within an outer housing nose, a stunning rod, and a catch system employing at least one arcuate catch, a catch retainer, and a catch piston slideable within an opening of a catch cylinder. The catch piston has passageways disposed therein to allow for flow of a pressurized fluid therethrough. One passageway allows fluid to flow to a rearward end of the stunning rod chamber, and another allows fluid to flow to a forward end of the stunning rod chamber. Pressurized fluid may flow from a source through an internal passageway to the front of the stunning rod chamber alongside at least one resilient cushion designed to cushion stop the forward movement of the stunning rod.

  • Publication number: 20210217036
Abstract: A multi-lender architecture is configured to provide a loan applicant with automated pre-qualification and automobile loan eligibility evaluation for multiple candidate lenders. Lender output data may include sensitive data. The lender output data is stored in a data object of a first format and one or more fields of the data object are encrypted at the field level. The encrypted data object may be transmitted through multiple application layers or terminals. The encrypted data object may be reformatted at one or more application layers or terminals without decryption. A reformatted encrypted data object containing the lender output data may be decrypted at the last layer before forwarding the lender output data to the loan applicant.

  • Publication number: 20200372576
Abstract: The system and methods described herein allow users to give their applicant information when seeking to submit an inquiry associated with a product provided by at least one entity, and have various lender microservices run in parallel, segregated by entity, in a jailed and self-contained, autonomous environment. The result of these microservices may be returned as a response to the inquity, being determined autonomously for each respective entity based on one or more respective rule sets or executable logic for each respective entity. Payloads for multiple entities may be combined in a single output from the jailed and self-contained environment due to outputs from the environment being encrypted in a universal format, wherein the outputs are decrypted in a user session in an application, allowing the user to see the results of the respective responses of each of the at least one entity, to their inquiry.

  • Publication number: 20200372499
Abstract: The system and methods described herein allow users to apply for a purchase of a good from multiple providers using provider specific methodologies for generating offers for the product. For example, the system described herein may include a multi-layer architecture that includes interactive micro-services that communicate together in a bi-directional manner to create a normalized process for the purchase of a good, such as commercial goods/products (e.g. a vehicle) or real property. The micro-services may assess prequalification for a loan or financing for a good, followed by determining eligibility of the good for financing, and further followed by calculating pricing details for loans (e.g. for financing purchase of the good) that would be offered for a consumer's particular financial credentials, for each of a plurality of lenders. Prequalification and pricing may be performed on a good by good basis, or for a plurality of goods near or substantially simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20200374273
Abstract: Encryption is performed at the field level within a data object, in response to an encryption indicator. Encrypted fields are nulled or zeroed out and the encrypted values are stored in encryption metadata with a path identifying the locations of the encrypted fields. An encrypted data key is appended with a decryption identifier and stored in the encryption metadata. The encrypted data object may be reformatted while encrypted. The encrypted data key is extracted from the encryption metadata and the decryption identifier is used to identify a master key used to decrypt the encrypted data key. The data key is used to decrypt the encrypted values and the decrypted values are stored in the fields identified by the paths.

  • Patent number: 10719374
Abstract: Aspects described herein may allow for the application of dynamically generating APIs using API generator based on database metadata. An API generator may extract metadata associated with store procedures. The API generator may generate a first layer of API that communicates with an enterprise application via a first data format. The API generator may generate a second layer of the API that communicates with a database via a second data format. The API generator may receive a request to invoke a stored procedure in a first data format. In response to receiving the request, the generated API may generate a converted request in the second data format.

  • Patent number: 10492501
Abstract: A portable pneumatic stunner for stunning or euthanizing an animal has a piston slideable within an inner chamber, a housing with a front portion being moveable toward and away from its rear portion, a stunning rod driven by the piston forward towards the front end of the housing, a catch system for alternately holding and releasing the stunning rod, and a regulator for regulating the pressure received from a fluid container for operating the stunner. The stunning rod is driven along a longitudinal axis upon exposure of a pressurized fluid to the piston, and the stunning rod is retracted back into the stunner after firing by exerting a manual inward force on the stunning rod and housing. The catch system comprises a plurality of arcuate sections substantially forming a cylinder. The regulator determines the allowable pressure levels of the fluid the stunner is subjected to.

  • Patent number: 10375969
Abstract: A stunning rod for a pneumatically operated animal concussion stunner comprises an elongated body. One end of the elongated body is adapted to receive a locking insert, and the other is adapted to engage a catch. The locking insert receives a locking element, wherein the combined locking insert and locking element are inserted into the first end of the elongated body. A strike end having a diameter larger than the diameter of the elongated body is secured to the first end of the rod via the locking insert and locking element. Locking grooves or protrusions disposed on the strike end interact with the locking insert to prevent rotation of the stunning rod and strike end during stunner operation. Lobes or flanges disposed about the periphery of the locking element interlock with grooves disposed within the rod first end, and further prevent rotation of the strike end during stunner operation.

  • Publication number: 20180000099
Abstract: An animal stunner for use in livestock/slaughterhouse operations has a piston slideable within an inner chamber, and a fire pressure chamber with an annular configuration disposed adjacent the rearward or central end of the inner chamber. A stunning rod is driven forward by the piston to stun the animal and rearward to retract the rod. A valve system alternately controls flow of the pressurized fluid from the fire pressure chamber to the rearward end of the inner chamber to move the piston and drive the stunning rod. A catch system holds and releases the stunning rod. A compressed fluid supply is used to retract the stunning rod between operation cycles. Handles employing triggers are used by the operator to hold the stunner and to activate the valve system, and cushion mount systems are attached between the handles and stunner housing to absorb shock while operating the stunner.
