  • Patent number: 11533793
Abstract: A system and method for producing a conformal electroluminescent coating on an object wherein an electrically conductive base backplane film layer is applied upon a substrate. One or more intermediate layers, such as dielectric, or phosphor film layers, is/are applied upon the conductive backplane film layer. An electrode film layer is applied upon the one or more intermediate layers using a substantially transparent, electrically conductive material. The electroluminescent phosphor is excitable by an electrical field established across the phosphor film layer such that the device emits electroluminescent light upon application of an electrical charge between the conductive backplane film layer and the electrode film layer.

  • Publication number: 20210355045
Abstract: A composting apparatus comprises a bin, an access panel, an aerator, a water content sensor, a valve, and a composting controller. The bin stores organic materials and compost therein. The access panel, disposed over an opening within the bin, allows access to an interior of the bin. The aerator, disposed within the bin, allows air into the bin to aerate the organic materials and compost therein. The water content sensor, disposed within the bin, senses a quantity of water within the organic materials and compost within the bin. The valve, coupled to a water line, controls a quantity of water added to the bin. The composting controller, coupled to the water content sensor and the water valve, actuates the water valve to control a quantity of water added to the bin based on the sensed quantity of water within the organic materials and compost.

  • Publication number: 20160040176
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the invention provide a method comprising: a) transforming cells from a selected plant with a vector comprising a gene encoding a heterologous target protein, to obtain transgenic primary plant cells, wherein the selected plant is from a species that produces activators or inhibitors of the heterologous target protein; b) mutagenizing an explant obtained from the transgenic primary plant cells to form mutagenized transgenic cells; and c) exposing the mutagenized transgenic cells to a compound, wherein mutagenized transgenic cells that overproduce one or more activators or inhibitors of the heterologous target protein, as compared to a non-mutant transgenic plant cell from the same species, survive; and wherein mutagenized transgenic cells that do not overproduce one or more activators or inhibitors of the heterologous target protein, as compared to a non-mutant transgenic plant cell from the same species, die.
