  • Patent number: 10628439
Abstract: A processing server is disclosed. The server comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory. The application when executed by the processor formats data into a data container, wherein the data is comprised of audio and video content of a movie. The application then writes metadata in to the data container, wherein the metadata identifies what processing has been done on the data and identifies algorithms that are applied to the data, and identifies a source location from which the data container is obtained, and identifies a plurality of different data containers with different versions of the audio or video content that have different processing or algorithms applied to them and the source locations from which the different data containers are obtained. The application then stores the data container in a data store, whereby the data container is sourced to playback devices.

  • Patent number: 9681088
Abstract: A processing server that builds metadata is disclosed. The server comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory. The application when executed by the processor formats data into a data container, wherein the data comprises audio and video files of a movie. The application then builds metadata, wherein the metadata details what post-processing has been done on the data, wherein the metadata identifies what processing and algorithms are applied to the data and supports selection of data by a playback device. The application then writes metadata into the data container, wherein the playback device applies additional post-processing to the data in the data container based on the metadata.

  • Patent number: 9473286
Abstract: A method and corresponding system to help manage carrier-aggregation service in view of possible intermodulation distortion between component carriers. When a base station is serving a UE with carrier aggregation service on at least two component carriers, the base station determines that uplink communication on the two component carriers is likely to combine to produce an intermodulation product that falls within the downlink channel of one of the component carriers, and that the power level of that intermodulation product is likely to be threshold high. In response, the base station then modifies the set of component carriers on which the base station provides the UE with carrier aggregation service, to help reduce or avoid associated intermodulation distortion.

  • Patent number: 9307440
Abstract: A method of prioritizing delivery to a mobile device for an audio album through a wireless network. The method comprises dividing, by a server computer, the audio album into two groups based on historical statistics of playback probability of a plurality of tracks of the audio album to be played next after a track that is being played, wherein tracks with a higher probability than a predefined threshold are placed in an immediate playback group, group 1, wherein tracks with a lower probability than the predefined threshold are placed in a later playback group, group 2.

  • Patent number: 9264955
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, apparatus, and system for managing frequency use in a system while engaged in multiple communications. When a wireless communication device (WCD) is engaging in a first communication on a first frequency, the WCD receives a request for the WCD to engage in a second communication. Responsive to receiving the request, the WCD hands off the first communication from the first frequency to a second frequency and engages in the second communication on the first frequency. The method may thereby help to reduce likelihood of interference.

  • Patent number: 9210621
Abstract: A method and corresponding system to help maintain continuity of service level for a client device, such as where the client device is being served by an access network in accordance with a set of policy rules and the client device is going to stop being served by that access network and may then be served by another network. To help provide service continuity, the serving access network may detect that the client device is going to stop being served by the access network, and, responsively but before the client device stops being served by the access network, the access network or another entity may provision the client device with one or more service policy rules that the client device itself may then apply when the client device is no longer being served by the access network, such as when the client device is being served by another network instead.

  • Patent number: 9161227
Abstract: A system for providing a trusted bearer communication link in a long term evolution (LTE) wireless network. The system attaches a mobile communication device to the long term wireless network. An enhanced node B processes a trust zone request from the mobile communication device. The enhanced node B processes a trust zone service request from the mobile communication device. The enhanced node B interworks with a home subscription server (HSS) and a policy control rules function (PCRF) server to verity the mobile communication device has a right to execute the requested trusted network service. The system established a trusted bearer communication link between the mobile communication device and the long term evolution wireless network.

  • Patent number: 8953521
Abstract: The invention is directed to methods for facilitating communication between multiple wireless access components. Initially, a second wireless access component is detected to be within range of a first wireless access component. It is determined that a wireless connection is to be established between the wireless access components. Access information is exchanged between the wireless access components indicating capacity and current usage of each other's outbound link to the Internet. A wireless connection is then established between the two wireless access components, thus allowing for routing of Internet traffic between the wireless access components.

  • Patent number: 8768402
Abstract: A mobile station stores power-limit data that identifies one or more defined locations and associates each defined location with a respective transmit power limit. The one or more defined locations may, for example, correspond to locations of high-priority signal transmitters, such as transmitters that transmit signals used for public safety communications. In response to a trigger condition, the mobile station determines whether its current location is proximate to any of the one or more defined locations in the power-limit data. The trigger condition may occur when a current transmit power level of the mobile station is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold value. If the mobile station's current location is proximate to a defined location in the power-limit data, the mobile station controls its transmit power level so that it does not exceed a transmit power limit associated with the defined location.

  • Patent number: 8619674
Abstract: A radio access network (RAN) includes a first wireless access point that radiates to define a first wireless coverage area, and a second wireless access point that radiates to define a second wireless coverage area. A dual-mode wireless communication device (WCD), capable of communicating via both the first and second wireless coverage areas registers with the first wireless access point. As part of the registration process, or at some point thereafter, the first wireless access point transmits information that identifies the second wireless coverage area. The first wireless access point also transmits a WCD identifier received from the WCD during the registration process to the second access point, so that the second access point can add the WCD identifier to its whitelist. Thus, via the second wireless coverage area, the WCD can register with the second wireless coverage area.

  • Patent number: 8472952
Abstract: A dual-mode wireless communication device (WCD), capable of communicating via both Wifi and cellular technologies, registers with a Wifi access point. As part of the registration process, or at some point thereafter, the Wifi access point transmits a frequency at which a femtocell access point operates. Upon receiving this frequency, the WCD registers for cellular service with the femtocell access point. As a result, the WCD may be able to communicate simultaneously via both the Wifi access point and the femtocell access point.
