  • Patent number: 9769425
Abstract: A video conferencing system contains one or more display adjusting components, whereby an object to be displayed can be adjusted to appropriately fit various sized display screens. A display adjusting component is contained within the sending client, which adjusts the image of the object to be appropriately displayed to one or more receiving clients. The receiving clients also contain a display adjusting component, which can further adjust the image of the object to be displayed, as necessary. The multimedia conferencing server of the video conferencing system also contains a display adjusting component, which negotiates parameters of the sending and receiving clients. Any of the display adjusting components can function alone, or in any combination together. • Patent number: 9485800
Abstract: Wireless communication systems may transfer communication status to a session icon that is displayed on a wireless communication device such as a smart phone, a tablet, a personal computer, a game console, a hand-held or wearable console, or other software processing device that has a wireless transceiver. A session quality server system obtains communication status data for a set of communication contacts. The session quality server system transfers the communication status data of the contact set over to the wireless communication device. Before a media session such as a voice call is established with a communication contact, the wireless communication device displays a session icon for that communication contact. The communication status of that contact is visually indicated in the session icon.

  • Patent number: 9100982
Abstract: A method, system and medium are provided for automatically routing an incoming call to one active wireless-telecommunications device of a set of devices associated with a single wireless-telecommunications-network subscriber. A proximity-based relationship is created between a primary device and a nonprimary device. Upon receiving an indication that the primary device is within a threshold proximity of the nonprimary device, a request is communicated to the network to associate a set of user credentials of the primary device and a set of hardware credentials of the primary device with the nonprimary device. The nonprimary device is thereby activated so that it can receive an incoming call. The primary device is deactivated so that the subscriber can only receive an incoming call on one device at a time.

  • Patent number: 9084284
Abstract: A method, system and medium are provided for receiving an incoming call on a target wireless-telecommunications device. A secure communication path is established between a primary device and a nonprimary device, and a proximity-based relationship is created between the primary device and the nonprimary device. The primary device has associated with it a set of user credentials and a set of hardware credentials. When the nonprimary device comes within a threshold proximity of the primary device, the primary device automatically communicates the set of user credentials and the set of hardware credentials to the nonprimary device thereby activating it so that it can receive an incoming call. The primary device is deactivated so that a wireless-telecommunications-network subscriber can only receive an incoming call on one device at a time.

  • Publication number: 20150146012
Abstract: A wireless communication device displays video presentation quality for an identified video. The wireless communication device processes its device configuration data and wireless network performance data to estimate presentation quality of the identified video. The wireless communication device displays a video presentation activator that graphically indicates the estimated presentation quality for the identified video. If the video presentation activator is activated by a user, then the wireless communication device initiates a download and display of the identified video.

  • Patent number: 8819447
Abstract: A wireless communication device comprises first processing circuitry configured to execute an RF operating system and second processing circuitry configured to execute an open operating system, wherein the first processing circuitry is linked to a secure memory device inaccessible to the second processing circuitry. The RF operating system is configured to receive protected data and store the protected data in the secure memory device. The open operating system is configured to receive a request for the protected data from one of a plurality of user applications and transfer the request to the RF operating system. In response to the request for the protected data, the RF operating system is configured to retrieve the protected data from the secure memory device, encrypt the protected data, and transfer the encrypted protected data to the open operating system for delivery to the one of the user applications associated with the request.

  • Patent number: 8798277
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer-readable media for presenting a mute indicator to a caller when the caller is attempting to provide input to a call that has been muted. In particular, a determination is made that a mute function is engaged during a call. An area surrounding a calling system, such as a phone, is then monitored by a monitoring system to determine whether a caller is attempting to provide input to the call. A determination is then made that a caller is attempting to provide input to the call. The determination may be based on a caller providing a threshold volume of voice input within a threshold area of proximity near the calling system. A mute indicator is then presented to the caller to notify the caller that the call has a mute function engaged.

  • Patent number: 8654079
Abstract: Systems, products, and methods are disclosed for facilitating a method of mapping a numerical keypad to keys of a keyboard on a mobile communications device based on an initial selection of an edge key. One embodiment of the method includes receiving input by way of a given key of the keypad and then dynamically configuring that given key to be a numerical key of a numerical keypad. In particular, input received by way of the numerical key is interpreted as a corresponding numeral regardless of a prior configuration associated with the numerical key. Further, keys of a keyboard within a proximity of the numerical key are mapped to remaining numerical keys of the numerical keypad.
