  • Patent number: 9896115
Abstract: A terminal operating system includes one or more processors configured to obtain one or more parameters of non-propulsion-generating cargo vehicles and to determine which of the non-propulsion-generating cargo vehicles are to be included in a vehicle system assembled in a terminal or yard based on the one or more parameters. The one or more parameters include one or more of an earliest time of availability at which cargo equipment will be available in the terminal or yard, a safety operational characteristic, an efficiency operational characteristic of the one or more non-propulsion-generating cargo vehicles, and/or a priority parameter of the one or more non-propulsion-generating cargo vehicles. The one or more processors are configured to automatically direct equipment within the terminal or yard to assemble the vehicle system based on the one or more parameters.

  • Publication number: 20150066561
Abstract: A system and method includes receiving yard data at a yard planner system from a plurality of workstations and a plurality of sensors within a vehicle yard, wherein the yard data includes information regarding movement of vehicles and resources in relation to the vehicle yard. The system and method may also include using the yard planner system to form an initial yard plan based on the yard data, monitoring the yard data over time with the yard planner system, and updating the initial yard plan to form an updated yard plan based on changing yard data over time.

  • Publication number: 20120253641
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine in either a first mode in which the engine is fuelled by a first fuel, or in a second mode in which the engine is fuelled by a mixture of the first fuel and a second fuel, the method comprising the steps of programming the engine to operate initially in the first mode, repeatedly sensing a plurality of first variables and obtaining a measured value for each sensed first variable, and emitting a first input signal dependent on the measured value of each sensed first variable, causing a first output signal, comprising a plurality of injector control signals, to be emitted in dependence on the first input signals for controlling the amount of the first fuel supplied to the engine, switching the mode of operation to the second mode, selecting one or more of the injector control signals to produce a first modified signal, which determines the amount of first fuel supplied to the engine and generating a second calculated signal, which determines the amount of second fuel supplied

  • Publication number: 20120191323
Abstract: An injector emulation device for incorporation into a multiple fuel engine control system including a first control device (4) configured to operate a plurality of fuel injectors (10) to inject a first fuel into selected cylinders (8) of the engine (6) when the system is operating on the first fuel only and a second control device (54) arranged to operate, instead of the first control device (4), said plurality of injectors (10) to inject said first fuel when the system operates in multifuel mode, said first control device being connected to an injector emulation device for operation during said multifuel mode. The injector emulation device includes an electrical load device (157) arranged to mimic the electrical load characteristic of the injector (10) being emulated and further including electronic means which mimic the inductance and flyback characteristics of the injector (10) being emulated.
