  • Patent number: 11959368
Abstract: A system for protecting an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) string from gas slugs in a downhole well environment. The system comprises an intake tube having a first and second end and one of a packer having a bypass channel and an inverted shroud coupled to the intake tube and the ESP string. The intake tube is independent of a pump and a motor of the ESP string. The system can comprise a bypass tube for channeling the gas slug downstream of the pump. The bypass tube is integrated with the packer. The inverted shroud is coupled with the first end of the intake tube and a section of production tubing downstream from the pump and the motor. The inverted shroud forms a bypass path channel within a casing annulus.

  • Patent number: 9824312
Abstract: Systems and methods can support complex event handling. A complex event handler can receive a current event. The current event may be stored to an event log. The current event may be matched against rule conditions within a rule implementation system. Prior events may be identified, within the rule implementation system, upon which the matched rule conditions also depend. The event log may be searched for the identified prior events. Prior event parameters, corresponding to the identified prior events, may be retrieved from the event log. The rule conditions may be evaluated in view of the current event and the retrieved prior event parameters. Actions may be executed that correspond to the rule conditions triggered in response to the evaluating. Domain specific language expression may be received, processed, and incorporated as rules and facts into the rule implementation system.

  • Publication number: 20150302300
Abstract: Systems and methods can support efficient graph-based rule engines for complex, dynamic, unstructured data. The system can provide an interface to a graph database for storing rules and facts. The system can receive rules and facts. The system can convert the received rules to a format suitable for insertion into the graph database and store the converted rules into the graph database. The system can receive a question and perform a query against the graph database to evaluate rules and facts in light of the received question. The system can return facts retrieved from the graph database in response to the performed query. Also, the system can generate one or more actions based upon facts retrieved or rules trigger in response to the performed query.

  • Patent number: 5733016
Abstract: A mar-free mounting for a wheel balance weight has a clip cast into the weight, the clip having a U-shaped portion fit over a wheel rim flange. A convexly curved hemmed edge is formed at the leading edge of the clip which moves into a complementary groove formed in the surface of the wheel rim flange when the clip is installed. The hemmed edge is configured to wedge into the groove, establishing an increased circumferential frictional force and a high locking force which is primarily relied on to secure the weight. Installation and removal thus involve only modest contact loads, which together with the effect of the hemmed edge being smoothly curved at either end prevent marring of painted or clear coated wheel surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4793658
Abstract: A vehicle wheel cover includes a cover body having apertured flange portions arranged in diametrically opposite pairs. A leaf spring extends between each pair of apertured flange portions and includes shoulder means projecting radially outwardly of the flange portions for cooperative engagement with abutment means of a wheel opening. The leaf springs are in overcenter relationship to the cover body to provide a spring force resisting radial inward movement of the shoulder portions thereof.

  • Patent number: 4603914
Abstract: A vehicle wheel cover includes a plastic cover body and an annular retention band which is secured to the cover body by a series of projections on a flange of the body being received through openings in the band. The material of the openings is formed into integral lanced tabs which engage shoulders of the projections. The axial extent of the openings is greater than that of the projections to permit axial adjustment of the cover body and retention band relative to each other. The band is provided with retaining fingers for retaining engagement of the cover on a vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 4138198
Abstract: A tapered shank ball stud, as used in an articulated joint assembly, has its tapered shank secured in seated engagement in the tapered aperture of a support member in such an assembly by a lock nut threaded onto the externally threaded end of the ball stud with a collapsing washer of original C-shaped annulus configuration sandwiched between the member and the lock nut, the washer being operative as the nut is driven onto the ball stud to effect axial movement of the ball stud to fully seat the tapered shank portion thereof in the tapered aperture in the support member thereby preventing rotation of the ball stud as the lock nut is torqued down to effect collapsing of the washer into a final flat ring-like washer configuration.
