  • Patent number: 8340358
Abstract: A visual camouflage system that provides at least one of thermal or radar suppression is described. The system includes a vinyl layer having a camouflage pattern on a front surface of the vinyl layer. The camouflage pattern includes a site-specific camouflage pattern. A laminate layer is secured over the front surface of the vinyl layer coating the camouflage pattern to provide protection to the camouflage pattern and strengthen the vinyl layer. One or more nanomaterials are disposed on at least one of the vinyl layer, camouflage pattern, or the laminate to provide at least one of thermal or radar suppression.

  • Publication number: 20120154196
Abstract: Systems and assemblies for simultaneous adaptive camouflage, concealment and deception are provided. The assemblies that can be used in the systems include a vinyl substrate layer and a miniaturized thermoelectric device array secured to the vinyl substrate layer. The miniaturized thermoelectric device array is configured to provide an adaptive thermal signature to a side of the miniaturized thermoelectric device array that faces outward from the vinyl substrate layer. A flexible image display matrix can be secured on the vinyl substrate layer. The flexible image display matrix can be configured to display visual images. A laminate layer can be secured over the vinyl substrate layer covering the flexible image display matrix and the miniaturized thermoelectric device array to provide protection and strengthen the assemblies. One or more nanomaterials can be disposed on the vinyl substrate layer or the laminate layer to provide thermal or radar suppression.

  • Publication number: 20100031423
Abstract: Veil systems for providing camouflage and methods for making the same are provided. The veil system can include a base substrate having a first side and a second side with a first camouflage pattern printed on the first side of the base substrate. The veil system can also include an outer mesh having a first side and a second side with the first camouflage pattern printed on the first side of the outer mesh. The base substrate and the outer mesh can be connectable so that the first side of the base substrate faces the second side of the outer mesh and the first side of the outer mesh faces outward. The first camouflage pattern on the first side of the base substrate substantially aligns with the first camouflage pattern on the first side of the outer mesh. The outer mesh provides visibility from the second side through the first side of the outer mesh to permit observation beyond the veil system.
