The latch assembly has a front plate cover, a back plate cover, a cam pivotally secured to and positioned in between the front and back plate covers, a first eye extending from a surface of the front plate cover, and a second eye extending from a surface of the cam. The latch assembly includes a cord having a first end secured to the latch assembly and a second end secured to a portion of the cord. The cord extends through a channel defined by the front and back plate covers.
