  • Publication number: 20150211529
Abstract: A pump system is provided including a power source, a pump and a transmission. First and second sensors are configured to respectively provide information indicative of at least one actual first operating condition relating to the pump and to information indicative at least one operating condition relating to the transmission. A controller is configured to adjust the power source or the transmission based on an output flow rate of the pump. The controller is configured to perform a first comparison of the first operating condition and a predetermined first operating condition and a second comparison of the second operating condition to a predetermined second operating condition and based on the first and second comparisons determine if the controller should continue to adjust the power source or the transmission based on the output flow rate of the pump.

  • Patent number: 7834492
Abstract: An electric machine for a power system is disclosed. The electric machine has a housing with a first end cap and a second end cap. The first end cap has a first fluid passageway, and the second end cap has a second fluid passageway. The electric machine also has a stator fixedly disposed within the housing, and a rotor rotationally disposed radially inward from the stator. The rotor has an axial passageway fluidly communicating the first fluid passageway with the second fluid passageway.

  • Publication number: 20080236919
Abstract: An electric machine including an engine, generator, and motor. The electric grid is positioned between an input passage and output passage of an exhaust system of the engine. While in retard mode, excess electric power is dumped to the electric grid. Continuous airflow from the engine through the exhaust system removes the energy, in the form of heat, away from the electric grid.

  • Patent number: 7309300
Abstract: An electric drive system is provided having first and second output members and a driving shaft having an axis or rotation. A plurality of electric motors are arranged adjacent to the driving shaft. Each motor has an output shaft in driving engagement with and substantially parallel to the driving shaft. A differential steering system is operably disposed between the driving shaft and the first and second output members. The differential steering system includes a first planetary gear assembly operably engaged both between the driving shaft and the first output member and between the driving shaft and the second output member. The first planetary gear assembly has an axis of rotation that substantially aligns with the axis of rotation of the driving shaft. A steering motor is operatively engaged with the differential steering system and operable to simultaneously adjust the relative rotational speed of the first and second output members.
