Abstract: A request for annotations identifying a user, an electronic content item (e.g., an electronic book), and a portion of the electronic content item is received from a client device. A set of annotations is identified that correspond to the identified portion of the electronic content item and an unlocked subset of this set of annotations is determined based on an access history of the identified user that indicates electronic content the identified user has previously accessed. At least one annotation from the unlocked subset is sent to the client device for presentation in conjunction with the identified electronic content item.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for retrieving connection score data for a user, the user being a user of a computer-implemented social networking service, the connection score data comprising one or more connections scores, each connection score reflecting a degree of interaction between the user and a respective contact, determining that a first connection score is less than or equal to a minimum connection score, the first connection score being associated with a first contact of the user within the social networking service, and, in response to determining that the first connection score is less than or equal to the minimum connection score, removing the first contact as a contact of the user within the social networking service.

Abstract: When a request to purchase an item using an account of a user is received, a geographic location of a user device when the request was made is determined, the user device used to make the request. If the location from where the request was made is an unexpected location of the user, a determination is made as to the likelihood of the user being at the determined location. The likelihood of the user being at determined location is determined based on social networking information of the user. The purchase request is processed based on the determined likelihood of the user being at the determined location. The feature of checking the location of where a purchase request is made from can be enabled or disabled by the user.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes, displaying, at a presence-sensitive screen of a computing device, an input field in a region of a graphical user interface (GUI). The method further includes receiving, at the presence-sensitive screen, user input including one or more gestures to select the input field, wherein the one or more gestures to select the input field include motion at a location of the presence-sensitive screen that corresponds to the region of the GUI displaying the input field. The method also includes, while the input field is selected, detecting, by the computing device, an audio signal and identifying, by the computing device, at least one input value based on the detected audio signal. The method also includes assigning, by the computing device, the at least one input value to the input field in the GUI.
